A large, principally open plan family residence being our full time home and as such furnished to the greatest standards of luxury and comfort.

We finished the restoration 4 years ago using only the finest of materials and maintaining the original features of this 1600/1700s brickmaker's house.

Practically all the ceilings are with exposed beams and terracotta tiles and the floors of the ground floor are of a mixture of marble/travertino and terracotta with underfloor heating.

Six large french windows open out from the south face of the house on to the extensive pergolated terrace

On the ground floor there are 4 reception rooms, comprising large well equipped kitchen with separate Utility Room, a Family/Day Room, large Dining Room, Sitting Room, Sun Room, Study and spacious Entrance Hall and Cloak Room - all with French Windows leading out on to the Terrace.

The travertino staircase leads out from the Entrance Hall to the Library above from which passages lead to the 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (1 Bedroom remains closed). The bathrooms all have generous walk-in showers, 2 with baths(1jacuzzi). There are 2 bedrooms with bathrooms en suite and 2 bedrooms with a shared bathroom.

Overall Property Description:
La Fornace is a beautifully restored large farmhouse dating back to the early 1700s. The name La Fornace derives from the fact that it was once the brickmaker's house - The Brickilne - and it is said that the bricks for the castle at nearby Lari came from here. The house is our full time home and as such has a welcoming and warm atmosphere.

La Fornace is situated in what we consider to be one of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany - the Pisan Hills. We know and have lived in most areas of Tuscany and in addition to the stunning countryside we have found the people the most warm and welcoming and the cuisine of the highest standard. An added advantage is that the area has a micro climate with no extremes and in summer a sea breeze that comes up every morning to temper the midday heat

The secluded house set in the heart of its 12 acres of landscaped gardens, orchards, olives and woodland, yet only 300 meters from the road, sits on the side of a hill with sweeping views down the valley and the hilltop villages beyond.

La Fornace is only 4 minutes to the two nearest villages, Lari and Casciana Alta, 10 minutes to the motorway network of Europe, half an hour to the sea and the International Airport at Pisa, and within the hour or so most cities and tourist attractions .

Two cooks are available at €20 per hour, being given reasonable notice.

We ask for no smoking in the house. Also being our own family home we ask for the utmost respect of the many personal effects that we leave in the house.

PAYMENTS RENTAL VOUCHER


Once the booking request is received, EASY RESERVE will send the holiday-renters a link to a web page where they can pay the 40% deposit plus the booking fee online with either a Visa or Mastercard. If the holiday-renter prefers to pay the deposit over the phone that is not a problem either. The balance is due 45 days before arrival and can also be paid online or over the phone.


Upon receiving the full balance the holiday-maker will be sent his/her rental voucher. For bookings made less than 45 days prior to the start of the rental period, the holiday-maker must immediately pay the total amount of the rental price.


ALTERATIONS - CANCELLATION CHARGES


For any alteration to the booking, or if the holiday-maker intends to transfer his/her booking to other persons, on condition that the accommodation and the period do not change, the holiday-maker has to pay the amount: of 50 Euros.
EASY RESERVE reserves the right to charge the holiday-maker any additional cost relative to the booking.

Cancellation of a booking, even if it is substituted by another one, the following penalties must be paid:

40% of the total rental price if the cancellation is made from the booking time to 46 days before the start of the rental period,

100% of the total rental price if the cancellation is made from 45 days to the day of arrival or in the case of no show, IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER ADDITIONAL CHARGES SUCH AS THE BOOKING FEE.
