Never Disappointed at the Hololani A guest from Huntington Beach, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 16 days in June, 2012 My family has been coming back to the Hololani for several years for our Maui "fix". We really enjoy the property and how the grounds are maintained. Reserved parking, the spectacular views of Lanai and Molokai and being right on the beach can't be beat. Plus having a washer/dryer in the unit really helps lighten the suitcases. Over the years, we have stayed in many different units and this one is right up there with the top units we have rented. The kitchen and baths have been updated and are fresh. And there is a nice TV in the great room. I wish the beds were Kings as we are tall and that there were more sleeping pillows, but those beds and more pillows are hard to find in rental units anywhere. And my only other suggestion would be to have a wider variety of kitchen utensils (i.e. can opener to open the pineapple juice cans and full size whisk for eggs) and tupperware style containers for food storage (something to refrigerate the fresh cut pineapple in) - more glass bowls with glass lids would have been nice, but nevertheless, we were able to improvise and have a wonderful vacation. We can't wait to return and would recommend this unit and the property as a whole to anyone. Overall it was a very pleasant vacation. Our second stay at the H Loren M. from Sparks, NV recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in April, 2012 B504 was a nice unit but the hot water in the shower only stayed warm for about 45 secs. The headboard in the master bedroom is very warn and sheds. The couch needs vacuuming especially the back. The sliding door to the second bedroom need to be stabilized so they don't move at night and make noise. The elevators were under repair but did not cause a problem. Thanks for the Hololani bags which were very handy when shopping. Property Manager Response: Response from Hololani Rental Association LLC A new hot water heater has been installed at the Hololani so hot water should not be a problem. The headboard has been replaced by a new one. The slider door has been addressed and slides freely. Elevator upgrade project has been completed. Thank you for your concerns. Stayed for 5 days in November, 2011 We wanted to be able to fall asleep listening to the waves and be able to cook meals with the wonderful local foods. When we walked into the unit and saw both the interior and the view, all we could do was say "Oh my gosh!" over and over. The main lanai was mostly shaded all day, which allowed us to stay out and enjoy the waves without getting fried by the sun. The kitchen was gorgeous and full of everything we needed. The decor was lovely, with touches of Hawaiiana without being kitschy. We fell asleep each night listening to the crashing waves, and we were able to leap into the surf each day only a few steps from our unit. We noticed that the newer buildings are required to be set well back from the shore, which means that the sounds and sights of the surf are much further away. Being so close to the water was amazing. The big problem: management's failure to repair the elevator, making the unit an inconvenient 5th floor walk-up for four days. This is unfair to condo owners and guests alike, and verbal apologies are inadequate recompense for the latter. Being on the beach with this view adds immeasurably to a trip to Maui.
