The unit we stayed in, 120, was furnished with "vacation-like" bamboo chairs and couches and the even the floors were bamboo. The whole place was clean and comfortable, we especially loved the huge king-sized bed. The office staff was friendly and the grounds were well-tended and beautiful. The unit in which we stayed needed a general facelift. The furnishing were well dated. Some parts of it, the carpet and draperies were not clean. It needs an overhaul. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2012 It had been many years since we stayed at the Hale Kai but it is still the perfect place to stay while in Maui! The condo was wonderful ~ we walked out our lanai doors & across a bit of grass, down seven stone steps & we were on the sand! It couldn't get any better. The sunsets were enchanting & we were fascinated by the sea turtles feeding on the reefs right in front of Hale Kai every day! The management staff are wonderfully helpful & so pleasant. We loved having the farmer's market just across the road and the fish market just down the street if we wanted to BBQ on the large BBQ's at the condo (overlooking the ocean while your meal cooks)!! We will be back to the Hale Kai, it is the perfect place to stay when visiting Maui!
