In the resort: supermarket, shops, restaurant, bar, disco. Access: railway station "Figueres" 25 km. Roses 30 km. Begur 30 km. Empuriabrava 25 km. For arrivals by plane: airport Barcelona-Prat Llob (BCN) 150 km, Girona-Costa Brava (GRO) 55 km. It is one of the most picturesque towns on the Costa Brava, in the large gulf of Roses. Wide sandy beaches, gently shelving in places and separated by rocks. Boat hire. In the old town there is the parish church of Sant Pere de l'Escala and some pretty 18th and 19th century houses.
