Welcome to our lovely Condo at Keauhou Punahele Resort, located seven miles from downtown Kailua-Kona. You are within walking distance to Keauhou Bay or a short drive to Kahalu'u Beach one of the best snorkeling beaches on the Big Island.There are two bedrooms, two baths with a large walk in closet. The kitchen was recently remodeled and has granite counter tops as well as new cabinets. Our living room as well as kitchen over looks the Kona Country Club fairways. We have a gas BBQ on the lanai along with comfortable furnishings to enjoy the wonderful Hawaiian sunsets in the evenings. Relax by the pool or spa while enjoying your time on the Big Island of Hawaii after a day of adventure. 3 night miminim stay / 10 night minimum stay during Ironman and Christmas Season. W-01

The unit needs some upgrading of the furniture as it is somewhat tired. The bathrooms could also do with some updating such as new energy efficient toilets and some newer fixtures overall.We stayed for over a month and enjoyed our time. Awaiting a Response Kristy H. from Keaau, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2012 We had a good stay. When we arrived the floors were dirty. All of our feet were black by night. There was only one back up roll of toilet paper and one tiny (one load) box of laundry detergent so we soon had to make a store run. Initially I felt the property management company was helpful and I would have given them a five. However, I left my makeup bag and a few other toiletries in the unit on accident and I have not heard back from them. They said they would check with the cleaners and then they would check the drawer in the unit for me and they did not follow through. They have not responded to my second email asking if they were successful in finding my bag. At this point I am no longer feeling they are worthy of a high rating in professionalism. With all our units being booked back to back during high season, it is very hard to check on items left behind by guests but we do our best to do it in a timely manner. I did check this morning after the next guest departed and went through all the drawers in all the rooms and did not find it either I'm sorry to say. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2011 Dear escapiaRE: Rental Property (Punahele B-107) located in Keauhou, HIAll in all this unit was aged and in serious need of attention. If you continue to charge the prices you do the owner should be required to upgrade the unit. Especially if they expect to receive the prices they charge. Looking about the complex I do not recall seeing another unit that had such deplorable deck furnishings. I would commend the cleaning crew for doing their job. I am totally unsatisified the unit and am requesting partial refunding of my rental. I should think 50% would be acceptiable. For your information some of our findings of unit B-107 are as follows.Deck: BBQ, Old, filthy, lid brokenPlastic furniture:  old uncomfortable and stained. Almost all other units have comfortable cushioned chairs and cleanable tables. Screening:  not tight closing and screen torn. Living room:  sleeper couch old and seems to be "sprung". Impossible to sit on and arise from. WiFi provided but no axcess code.Cushions stained on couch and some chairs soiled, stained. Master Bath:  Extremely poor water pressure at hand sink. Poor water pressure at shower. Kitchen:  refrigerator stained. Ice maker inoperative.Limited kitchen accessories, no barbecue accessories. Lots of sun.The only thing we found compared to other units we have stayed inThat it was not very well equipped in the kitchen.Not enough plates no cereal bowls.Knives very dull and no steel to sharpen. Can openerDoesn't work very well. It's fine for a week but staying for a month we would like it better appointed. Stayed for 6 days in January, 2011 This is a perfect place to stay on the Kona, especially for a family with kids. It is away from the hustle and bustle and is nice and quiet but less than 5 minutes away from the one of the best sunokel beach in the big island Kahaluu Beach park. Also The big shoping store is located just 10 min walk by the condo. The house is equipped with everything you need and is great for cooking and BBQing with the sunset. The water heater was replaced during our stay. The unit was not adequately cleaned prior to us moving in. Sofa bed needed lines to be stripped. The sofa bed cannot be used as a bed. Unit needs more beach towels. What we love is the southern location -is easy access to snorkelling and shore diving to the south. Quite end of road access. Close to grocery, pharmacy and movie theater.. The unit is on the lower level which allows the patio to be open and provides it's own BBQ. Somewhat disappointed A guest from Calgary, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in January, 2009 When we arrived at the unit we found it not real clean and the bbq very dirty. The toilet in the master did not work properly and the window drapes were broken and did not open. The fan in the second bedroom was loose and almost ready to fail off the ceiling. The dishes had chips and cracks in the cups etc. The furniture in the living room was not great. The sofa is obviously old springs weak. The two chairs are dirty and need to be cleaned or replaced. The shower in the second bath was covered with mould near the bottom and this is a health risk. The tub chaulking in the master was also not in good condition.This unit is in a great location and has a really nice view, however it needs some TLC and a little money spent on repairs to bring the condo up to a level that I'm sure Kona Coast Vacations would like to see. People spend good money to rent this unit and therefore the unit should be clean and in good condition. Would we rent it again? Yes if we could be assured that the condition of the unit had been improved. When we rent we look after the rental as if it was our own and so we expect a certain level or standard.
