We stayed in Room 259 for our vacation from May 20th- 29th. We were very pleased with the location, the views, the provided beach accessories (beach chairs, boogie boards, cooler), and the kitchen items (glasses, mugs, plates, silverware). The property is clean and well maintained, however the pool closes pretty early at night (I think 10pm). Location is great since it is about halfway between the north and south shores, and about a 20 min. bike ride from a great boogie boarding/surfing beach. The only downside to this room is that there is a visible black mold problem on the ceiling above the pendant light. About 4-5 square feet of the ceiling has black mold showing. Besides the black mold, the room was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable and perfect for two people.

We (5 of us) very much enjoyed our stay at The Cliffs. The condo was clean, and quite well equipped. Only a rice cooker needs to added to the inventory. The view was great, and that plus the unit d├ęcor enhanced the atmosphere of Hawaii. The condo complex is undergoing a conversion to almost total solar power, and because of that there was a lot of construction in progress. The noise and activity did not bother us nor detract from our enjoyment of the stay. I would like to complement Ahh Rentals for their rapid response to a minor problem with a door lock. I found them to be professional in all respects throughout the whole rental process. We will use them for our next trip to Kauai.

a beautiful view and generally a pleasant place to stay; disappointed that there was no hot plate or electric burner to cook so I wasn't able to cook most of the groceries that I had purchased. The black mold on the ceiling near the window and on the upholstered chairs had me sneezing too.

We enjoyed our time at Islander on the Beach. Walking along the ocean front was our favorite activity. We also enjoyed a trip to the Kauai markets just across the street from the rental.

Very poor. The staff never responded to my cancellation requests (plural). I was billed and my credit card processed immediately when they knew of my dissatisfaction with them. As an airline Captain for a prominent US carrier, I have never before received such hostile and stubborn treatment.

Not a bad place for the price, but the bed is only full sized and the flannel sheets were beading up a little. The kitchen was the best part. The floor should probably be tile (it was shiny vinyl like when I went to high school). The AC unit was not user friendly. Parking was hard to find, but free. It was very quiet though and a safe place to stay. I would recommend for people who aren't too picky.

Many items were not working - including the air conditioner, hair dryer, bathtub drain and bathroom fan. Our arrangement was to retrieve the key from a lockbox, so we did not have anyone to contact except by telephone. Since we were only staying 3 nights, we decided it was not worth having to spend time dealing with malfunctioning equipment. In comparison, we had spent the previous 3 nights in a condo that was spotless, 3 times the size and had all the bells and whistles functioning perfectly - for a minimal additional cost per night. Although this location was slightly better, I would forgo a perfect location for the perfectly clean, comfortable, cared-for property.

We certainly wish the guest had taken a moment to report the problems to us so that we could have corrected them. The bathtub and fan took only moments to repair, hair dryer has been replaced, and the air-conditioning technician reports that the air conditioner is in perfect working condition. Apparently the guest did not know how to operate it. Five minutes spent reporting the problems to us with a simple phone call would have made it possible for the guest to enjoy a comfortable stay with everything in working order.
