We had stayed in other Wai Ula Ula condos before and know of the condos amenities, & location. This particular unit is basic as it gets, furniture is very uncomfortable rattan, living area all large slate tile so very hard edges. Master has a king bed that is long past it's prime that they have added a top pad to try to disguise just how bad the bed is. But for a short stay it is fine; clean, the management was super prompt and efficient. If they just got a new bed and a more comfy couch this would make all the difference in the world, as these condos are wonderful. Comfort is important. One last thing; last year we stayed in a condo where condiments where left in the fridge and condo...GREAT!!!! You don't have to drop so much at the grocery store for everything when there is spices, olive oil, cooking spray salad dressing, etc. This condo had basically salt and pepper. Very peaceful and serene and beautifully appointed. We recommend Lava Lava on the Beach for a pampered happy hour and the remainder of our time we enjoyed the BBQ and sunsets back at M102. The layout is excellent. The condo is well maintained and clean. Plus the kitchen is very well equipped. You can cook a real meal without a problem. This unit is at the end of the building and it feels very private. It has a golf/ocean view. We used the community party room/BBQ/pool area for two gatherings. It was lovely.We loved having access to the Mauna Kea beach while still having our private "home" retreat. Be aware you have to drive pretty much everywhere. But there are some nice restaurants in Kawaihae now. (Just 2 miles north.) It's a nice option from the resort restaurants or slogging all the way to Waimea or Kona. The home was very comfortable and is located in a very relaxing setting. The only thing we would have liked to have available was a stereo so we could listen to music. It would have made it all the more relaxing. Maybe a few more cleaning supplies too. We had to buy dishwasher soap and soft scrub for the counters. Just a few things to make housekeeping a little easier. If you are looking for a high end rental in a beautiful and relaxing location you can't go wrong renting this unit. My daughter and husband found it very entertaining to watch golfers lose their balls with the great view of one of the holes. The pool and other amenities at this complex was one of the best we experienced. Quick access to the most spectacular beaches were also a big factor of why we chose to stay here. It's location between Waimea town and Waikoloa shopping is also convenient. There were a few things that needed some attention with the condo (replacement of fire alarm batteries, grill burners not all working, ice maker not disseminating ice, etc., but the property manager took care of it right away.) For those in Hawaii for a staycation...bring your own rice cooker...the unit did not have one. Overall though, a wonderful week...wish we could live there. It is a very spacious condo and has a great view of the golf course and a more distant view of the ocean. There was originally some challenges with our booking, but Wayne the property manager took care of the issue. We were impressed with his high level of integrity. The condo is up the hill from the Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince Hotels. When renting this unit you can pay a small $ fee for full access to these world class hotels, their facilities and beaches. As stated by previous renters, this unit needs a few more kitchen utensils, pots and pans, etc. for people that plan to use the condo for cooking (the outdoor Wolf grill is great). The unit also needed a new coffee maker, which believe they replaced when we left. Overall a great place and very trustworthy property management team. We will definitely stay there again. Having 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms made this condo the perfect size for us. The setting, being situated on the golf course overlooking the ocean was beautiful and we really loved that it was so private, as we couldn't see any of the other condos from our lanai. The pool and workout room were great and the Hapuna Beach was only 5 minutes away by car. We also liked that there were beach chairs and towels that we could use at the beach.
