Hale Pua is an oceanfront oasis with high-end comforts and details throughout. While this privately-owned home works wonderfully for large gatherings, it is just as warm & welcoming for four couples or a smaller family group. This distinctive property was featured in a May 26, 2013 Wall Street Journal Hawaii focus article.

The home boasts full baths for every bedroom, and a sprawling oceanfront great room with easy access to the kitchen and wetbar. Multiple wall-to-wall glass sliding doors on the oceanside allow steady trade winds to gently flow while enjoying the stunning water and sunset views. You can SEE or HEAR the ocean from nearly every room!

The spacious lanai with waterfall pool and spa extends the full length of the house along the oceanfront. A lush stretch of yard is the only separation between the rolling surf against the lava rock wall and the home?s lanai.

Just a 50 foot walk from the lanai along a wide rock wall is a small sandy beach with comfortable entry to abundant tide pools and out to the ocean for snorkeling, surfing or kayaking.

Your ocean view is unobstructed and stunning; no walking path between you and the sea which is the case in many local beachfront neighborhoods.

After a full day of sun & fun, kids (or adults!) can chill out watching their favorite movie or enjoying a video game in the media room featuring leather media recliners, 70? Smart Samsung flat screen 3D TV, 3D viewing glasses, surround sound & Sony PlayStation/Blu-ray player. Several 3D movies like Avatar, Life of Pi and more along with popular Play Station games have been provided for your enjoyment.

Cards and board games are available in the equally large game room adjacent to the media room.

The executive open-design dream kitchen features ocean view granite counter and dining room seating for 16. This chef-worthy kitchen is equipped with 2 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers, 1 wine cooler, Subzero & Dacor appliances along with flatware & dishes to serve over 20 people.

Hale Pua is a special home that has been recently renovated with custom paint, window treatments, wall art and designer Restoration Hardware furniture. Each bedroom bears a fitting title in a brass doorplate, such as ?Surf?s Up?, ?Kona Coffee?, ?Pua Suite? and so on. The Hawaiian bedroom d├ęcor showcases new duvets, pillows and tropical touches that will make you smile. All bedrooms have flat screen TVs with cable.

Each bedroom suite is described in detail below, but for starters, the gorgeous 2nd floor Master Suite, with panoramic ocean views, provides optimum whale and dolphin watching opportunities from the balcony. One guest suite is ?Ohana? designed, also ocean view offering upstairs sleeping and separate downstairs living with wall-to-wall sliders opening onto the lanai.

The attractively updated, neutrally tiled baths are all full-size, three with double-sink vanities. Four of the six baths have very large tiled walk-in showers; the other two have deep shower tubs, one of those featuring a Jacuzzi. Vaulted beamed ceilings abound throughout the home, with finish work done in native Koa wood.

The large laundry is centrally located in the home, accessible from two entries, featuring two new Whirlpool Duet full-size washers & two dryers.



Hale Pua is perfectly located; close enough for adults and kids to walk to Old Kona Town and the pier. Set back 130 foot from prestigious Alii Drive, behind a private remote-controlled gate, the setting is peaceful and private.

The cleanliness of the property was excellent. However, the kitchen supplies were almost non-existent. The cooking pans were very old and food stuck to their surfaces. We had to buy (and leave at the house) a flat Teflon pan and cooking utensil so we could cook eggs. No common cooking items were available, such as baking powder, baking soda, or sugar or flour. We had to buy these common items, which we left there also. There were no napkins either, which we bought and left there too. Basic cooking supplies should be available at the home. Also the light over the kitchen table did not work, so evening dinners for our family were not as bright as they could have been. Otherwise, a beautiful home at a gorgeous location.

This my first time renting a home for a family vacation. Hale Pua met all of our expectations! Spacious, loved the pool, the view, the kitchen-we cooked more than we thought we would because the kitchen was so fabulous and well appointed. Ocean breeze all day long. This was perfect for our large family.

The location of this house is perfect. Close to downtown Kona and right on the ocean in a small cove. Perfect for any type of water activity with easy access. Our complaint is with the property management company. They are very nice and polite HOWEVER...The website is not user friendly. Could not download contracts. Office personnel didn't seem to be able to operate their scanners or fax machines. When they actually mailed the hard copies of the contracts to us it was for the wrong reservation number and date. They emailed us the wrong gate code for the property. The instructions on how to unlock the stove should DEFINITELY be in the house manual. Once we arrived and figured everything out, we did have a lovely time.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Hale Pua in November 2013. The location of the house and the house itself made for a great vacation for my family. The modern interior, comfortable furniture, modern home theater, swimming pool and most importantly The view of the ocean and waking up to the sound of waves made this house truly special. Boundless Hawaii was a pleasure to interact with and we are looking forward to staying here again soon!

I had a business trip planned for my supervisors of my construction company and this place worked out great. Big and comfortable house. The media room was great! The view and sunsets were spectacular. We even did some snorkeling and there was plenty to see. You could sit on the lanai and watch the dolphins jumping. The house was a little hot. No AC and Kona can get pretty warm. A few more portable fans would be good. But overall a great place in a very convineant location.
