Casa de Emdeko had the best kept grounds of all the properties we stayed at this trip. The interior of our unit was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The view of the gardens and ocean from the Lanni was great. I was dissapointed that we did not have free internet access and some places are giving free north american telephone access. The parking worked out ok but would be better if it was assigned. The exterior of the buildings needs some TLC. There was no one at the office when we arrived, not a big deal but when I finaly was able to inquire about internet service, the response was a rather abrupt you are on your own. Exterior upgrades seem to be in progress and this property could be a good future possibility. The apartment was extremely clean, well-equipped for everything we needed and very quiet. The last may have had something to do with the apartment's location. It was an end unit and on the top floor. While there's no beach at the location, there are two immaculate pools and beaches are easily accessed with a car or long walk. Tropical Paradise is Awaiting You at the Casa De Emdeko Leslie B. from San Clemente, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 16 days in October, 2009 Aloha,My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in unit 321 for 16 days. The pictures on the website were very accurate and depicted the newly renovated unit. We were delighted that the unit had everything we needed to enjoy a day at the beach, i.e. umbrella, two boogie boards, two beach chairs, and a cooler. It was also terrific having a washer and dryer in this unit which in an extra plus. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed including tupperware for our day's outings. This is the fourth time we have stayed in this complex. It is great for those who want to tuck in early as it is very quiet and the typical resident staying consists of mature folks (who party, but not after 10:00 p.m.). The complex has two barbecues overlooking the ocean with a great patio along with the tiki torches. I would definitely stay in the unit again. Also, working with the rental agency was excellent, always helpful and friendly. Unit 321 is newly redecorated and very nice. The only problem we encountered was parking spaces. On the weekend many spaces were occupied by cars without a parking permit. Sunday night we had to park out next to the strip mall. On Monday AM there were available spaces next to the complex and occupied ones had parking permits. It appears that guests/residents have friends over who use the parking spaces adjacent to the buildings. Except for a bit of a hitch with getting the Internet connection going, everything else in the unit was great. It is so well equipped, with thoughtful extras that one doesn't always find in a condo. Laurie at Kona Coast was very helpful, expedient and very nice to deal with in providing a couple of things that were missing. Casa de Emdeko itself is a lovely property, in which we felt very safe and secure. We loved the oceanside pool and the sandy area beside it, as well as the gardens. The only minor suggestion for the room is that a couple of spare garbage bags for the kitchen garbage be left in the room. It also might have been nice to be able to go for an evening swim. Thanks so much - we would certainly book here again should we return to the Kona coast.
