Even though there is central A/C, the owners also have ceiling fans in every room for those of you who prefer the trade winds. They have also hung 2 new shades on the lanai for your comfort.Your kitchen includes everything affording the opportunity to prepare breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Nice unit, but needs work. A guest from Kirkland, WA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2013 This is the second time we have stayed in this particular unit (232), and the third time overall at Casa de Emdeko. Casa de Emdeko is very nice, great location, and the common areas are lovely and well maintained. Unit 232 has a nice ocean view from its lanai, and it's reasonably comfortable, but the furnishings are old and somewhat run down, particularly in the kitchen. When we arrived the unit had not been properly cleaned. In particular the bathroom was very dirty. However, the property management company was very responsive and promptly sent a cleaner to make things right. This unit is by far the most outdated unit we have stayed in. Even the lamp in the living room works only when you plug it in. The complex itself is great and very well maintained. We choose to rent a condominium as opposed to getting a hotel because we felt having a full kitchen would save us money by allowing us to prepare some of our meals at the unit. We choose Casa De Emdeko #232 because the unit had very good reviews, was within walking distance to town, on the ocean, and the price was within our budge. When we arrived at the unit we were quite surprised. The unit was cleaner than we expected, and everything was all prepared for us. The kitchen had all the dishes, utensils, towels, etc. All we had to do was buy food. The unit was close enough to the ocean where we could hear the waves crash against the beach lava rocks. Stayed for 9 days in November, 2011 I feel the cleanibg fees are way out if line, we should not have to psy addl $$ for laundering our towels. I also mopped the floor 3 times ande & it stiil tutnour feet were still black after walking on it. The faucets in the bath room barely worked. Due to holiday plumber was not available fot8 days (we were there 9). I feel a partial credit on the cleaning fee should be given before I will consider coming back to the Casa versas another complex. It has everything needed in the kitchen, a full size shower, flat screen TV, and wireless internet. The one thing I would have liked was access to the washer/dryer in the condo, instead of the communal ones (and really, just wanted the dryer). The place was very clean, close to town and to snorkeling beaches. Parking was easy and the pools/BBQ area rounded out a very nice stay. The condos are away from the highway, so no car noise. Quiet and relaxing A guest from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in January, 2008 I go to Hawaii to relax, and this is a perfect place for that. It's about 2 miles south of the main Kona drag, so you don't get the rowdy crowds. There's even quiet hours after 10pm, which is fine by me. Nice views, nice people, good for anyone except people wanting to party all night long. The condo was nice with lots of kitchen supplies and towels, and a really great shower. A couple of problems: the dishwasher didn't work, we ended up handwashing which wasn't a problem except we wasted water twice by trying the dishwasher. The other (weird) thing was there was only 1 roll of toilet paper provided for our entire 10 day trip! You don't realize how much you need tp until you don't have it...
