1 br Kailua-Kona Ocean View Condo

This is a 1 bedroom, 2 bath condo in the Kona Pacific condo in the town of Kailua Kona on the Big Island. This condo has been renovated beautifully and designer decorated. There is a large lanai (balcony) that is accessed from both the living room and bedroom. A wonderful part of the Kona Pacific Complex is that it is within close walking distance to town, but it is not in the middle of the noisy part of town. It is quiet and close to the fun! The condo has an ocean view from every room in the condo except for the front hall and the bathrooms. The condo has direct ocean views because it is located in the last wing of Kona Pacific that directly faces the ocean. This condo has no road noise or noise from adjoining units, this is because the building is concrete. For your enjoyment we have provided in this condo: an internet connection, a TV/VCR/DVD in the living room and the bedroom, a stereo system with a CD player, a video library, a very comfortable new KING sized bed, down pillows, 400 count sheets, 18/8 stainless steel flatware, and air conditioning. The two bathrooms, not shown in the photos , are as pretty as the rest of the condo. Both are tiled in pretty beige tile with plush red towels. One bathroom contains a large bathtub and the other contains a shower with glass block details. We think you would surely be very happy with your choice once you walked into the condo and saw the attention to detail, the view and proximity to town! If there would be a newer TV in the living room it would be perfect. We loved the beach chairs.The only drawback was the office which was never occupied during those 9 days. As I had a fax forwarded to that number I tried for several days to retrieve it, but could never reach somebody. I tried to phone the manager (Mike ?) several times but could only get the mailbox. I talked to the mailbox to have that fax sent to the condos mailbox but never got it. It definitely looked and felt like a luxury condo! We were a little bummed that the DVD players were not hooked up to the TVs - there's not much to do in Kona after midnight. They had plenty of amenities available for us - plenty of towels, beach towels, beach chairs, plates, and silverware! Unfortunately, we did have to buy a couple of cooking material - oil and baking sheets. We also had to buy travel size shampoo/conditioner as well (soap was provided). Also, be aware of the low toilet pressure. Couple of little things that could have been better, but overall, a lovely place that we would definitely stay at again! Great location, just off of Alii Drive - close enough to walk to the night life, but far enough that it was quiet at night. Generally well maintained and clean, but the beach equipment could have been better (blanket, but no bamboo mat - webbing on beach chairs was fraying and breaking apart - couldn't figure out how to turn the fan off but keep the light on in the lanai). Bathrooms and kitchen were great. Now for the bad...just our bad luck...they were doing MAJOR maintenance during the stay. Jack hammers right outside from 8am (sharp) through 5pm. On our last day, they shut off the water from 9am to noon...couldn't sleep in, or no shower or toilet. Ended up leaving way early. We booked in January, so the maintenance schedule probably wasn't available at that time. Had we known, we would have made other arrangements. Very nice and modern condo in the town of Kona A guest from Longmont, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2012 The good: Furnishings and decorations are high-end and luxurious. The condo must have been recently remodeled, because it's all very modern and clean. The kitchen was great and had everything we needed. The king bed was super comfortable. The lanai is big and has a good view of the ocean and sunsets. WiFi worked great, there's a free parking space, and a washer/dryer in the unit.The bad: We didn't like the location, since it's basically in town. I didn't know the area before our trip, but now that I've been there I'd prefer to be further away from town, probably to the south. There's just too much traffic and hustle/bustle in Kona. The condo also lacked some basic items like oil for cooking, sugar, condiments, etc. It would be nice if those things were already there so we didn't have to buy them for a 1-week stay. The pillows are down, which I personally don't like. Other than that, I don't really have any other negatives. Overall this is a really nice place. It was in a great location within walking distance of shops & restaurants; a nice view from the balcony; kitchen was very well-equipped and all other amenities that we needed were included (washer/dryer was especially useful). The only negative comment I could make was that the complex was a little noisy during the day with a lot of renovation work going on in other units. But mornings & evenings were very quiet. Also the unit was a little far from the elevator. Not a problem for us but something to keep in mind. All in all we had a great stay! Not like Last Year A guest from Munroe Falls, OH does not recommend this property. Stayed for 12 days in November, 2011 I loved staying in E630 in Dec. 2010. That is why I returned to the same unit this year. However in 12/11 there was A HUGE BUG PROBLEM. Hundreds of bugs in the bathroom - also in the kitchen. If pest control came 12/12 after I called, I never saw a difference. Also, I was told not to take a bath (tub leaked on unit below). (I knew the jacuzzi in bath was not operational, although it is listed in the advertisement-my only disappointment last year). This is a lovely condo; I hope the problems get resolved. A couple of things, the 2 front burners on the stove do not work. The toilet in themaster did needs permanent work. It didn't work last summer and has not beenrepaired.
