Stayed for 2 days in March, 2013 The Estates itself was wonderfulstayed here meny times and we have stayed here many times as "local" tourists for family events or just to escape the hubub for a few days, 110 West however needs renovating.. the queen bedroom had a bad water leak (if you got out of bed on the left side you got very wet feet so you could only get out of bed on the right side or from bottom of bed and you could not use the closet) also the room smelled damp, and we were given 2 different stories as to the reason for the leak by the cleaners and by the office...the cleaners saying itr had just started the day before we arrived and the office having a total different story..the people above us had a leaking hot tub, (there was no condo above us) and no offers to recompense or prevent other rentors coming in after us...there was also very few dishes to eat off in this house and no bowls for cereal etc...overall though wwe enjoyed the estates! Not the best experience we have had renting A guest from San Tan Valley, AZ does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2013 We have stayed in different units before at turtle bay, this was the first time we had stayed at this particular unit and it was alright. The ants were a big problem and there was extensive water leakage in the bottom floor guest room to the point that it covered the entire carpet area in front of the closet making the closet unusable. Because of the water and it was apparent from the mold that this leak was not the first, there was a musty smell as well. We called the management company first on Saturday night and didn't get a return call until Sunday evening and a visit Monday morning from a maintenance worker holding a can of ant spray which we had already bought Saturday night. Thankfully it wasn't an emergency, but it was an inconvenience that didn't seem to be a top priority. The first time we rented with this management company the property was ant free and no issues so we didn't have any concerns. We also paid more for this particular property due to size but it was not in better condition. I was disappointed that the management company was not more prompt to address the flooding (which apparently happens due to a neighbors hot tub) or didn't feel the need to quickly rectify or even apologize. I do feel we overpaid for what we got, We go to Hawaii 3-4 times a year and rent a variety from condos to homes, but this may be the last time with this company. There was a really big ant problem, I knew there was going to be insects but not to that extent. We had to make sure everything was in ziplocs and all food was put away. There was also some things that were broken in the condo. In the bottom bedroom we didnt want to use the colaet because it looked really dirty, it had a stack of dirty tiles! The kitchen was not fully equipped with what we needed, good thing we brought some of our own things. This condo had plenty of room, was clean and comfortable, as well as ideally located. We were able to enjoy the resort and the beautiful bay. The ocean was an easy 5 minute walk through the beautiful property. The location allowed us easy access to the Kahuku Shrimp Trucks and ocean activities of Haleiwa. The staff at The Turtle Bay Resort Activities Center booked oceanside horseback riding for us, which was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend the condos when vacationing on Oahu. Horrible rental agency Margaret G. from Albuquerque, NM recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in May, 2012 The condos are wonderful. Our family rented 2 units and had no complaints. However, do not rent from the Estates at Turtle Bay. They hit us with $300 cleaning fee on top of the $300 in our contract. They claimed the condos were left in unacceptalbe condition. We vacuumed, swept, washed the dishes and towels and threw the trash. We did not make the beds, clean the bathroom, wash the linens or seperate the twin beds that we made into king. I did leave the vacuum cleaner and ironing board out but I do not believe that was unacceptable for $330. Use another rental agency, other family members did and did not have this issue. We came on a Saturday and the office was closed. No one mentioned there would be a security gate, nor gave us a access code to get in. We sat by the gate and held up traffic (to the dismay of others waiting).Then, there were multiple ants around the entire condo. Small little rascals.Finally, the air conditioning unit/filter was filled with dust. When it was hot, I'd turn on the air conditioning only to have dust fill the air and then I'd start sneezing. He told me he actually saw at least 2 of them and killed them. I stayed in the downstairs bedroom and was also bitten. My son stayed in the loft and was not bitten.We did not stay in any other hotel prior to checking into the condo. We have not encountered bedbugs before. I know they can be picked up many places and it could be that we got them on the plane on the way over to Hawaii???ALSO, there is a VERY bad leak somewhere in the condo, the carpet in the downstairs bedroom was soaking wet and the room smelled moldy/mildewy the entire time we were there. And oven was really, really dirty.View of the mountains was pretty, but noise from Hwy 83 was annoying especially since windows have to be open to keep the place cool due to no AC. In fact location is why chose it. The property was clean but ants were EVERYWHERE! In the Kitchen (counters, drawers & cabinets), in bathrooms, and especially IN the BEDS (upstairs and downstairs). NONE of the doors were able to lock including the FRONT DOOR). Poor security for those that stay in that unit. The patio doors, outter and inner, were broken. We have made it a tradition to track down to the Turtlebay Estates for a quick getaway and every year it seems to be getting worse, with this year topping the most uncomfortable yet. In scrambling to find something affordable and close, we came across these rentals and they were absolutely AWESOME! There are only two little things we didn't like. 1) there were these tiny little ants that just come and go as they please. They were not all over the place, but where they frequent, they are always there. 2) window AC units are just not strong enough for a place that size.Overall I really can't think of a better way to go if you have a party that is more than one hotel room can handle. For the price it can't be beat. It CAN'T BE BEAT. Plus you get to use the kitchen so it really keeps the food cost down. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2008 If I didn't have anything to compare our condo to, my opinion may be different. My friends stayed in a neighboring condo. Their furniture was immaculate. Their kitchen was stocked with spices. They had beach equipment and updated electronics. I was blown away by their condo! Ours was a good place to stay, but the furniture was uncomfortable and old and dirty, the beds were not comfortable, and the bathroom smelled like mildew, particularly the shower curtain. The kitchen was a bit dirty, had old food in the fridge, and did not even have salt and pepper. Granted, the condo was only $1500 for the 6 nights, so I cannot say it was a horrible deal. It did the trick of giving us a place to sleep and held all of our luggage, but we will probably not be staying at this condo again. Good place to stay Natalie H. from Placerville, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in December, 2007 We really liked this condo. It was roomy enough for 6 people. The North Shore is so beautiful. We did travel alot to the Honolulu side, but we didn't mind very much. We were fortunate that when the storm hit and most the island lost power, we were able to find power on the island, and it had returned to our condo by the time we got back that evening. The only con was the little ants that were all over our bathroom and bedroom upstairs and the kitchen, the owner did leave ant spray. Overall we loved Oahu, and the condo. My co-worker stays in these condo almost every year and told me about them. We were very pleased with the price. We recommend this as a great place to stay and hope many more guests have as much fun and blessings as we did. We felt our stay met our expectations, over looking the golf course within walking distance of the Turtle Bay resort. The pools Nancy B. from Surrey, B.C. recommends this property. Disappointing summer retreat A guest from Honolulu, HI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2007 The air conditioner in the bedroom downstairs was not working. We reported the problem to the office, however, we spent the first night very uncomfortable due to the heat. Fortunately, the air conditioner repairman was able to come the next day and repair the air conditioner. Unit 110 west was also infested with ants. From past experience, we know that there are ants in the units, however, the ants in this unit was out of control! Over the next few days, we tried to control the ant problem with our own ant baits and insect sprays, however, the ant infestation was severe.
