My son loved watching the helicopters land near the golf course right out the door. The location was great for heading to beautiful beaches, and being away from the Honolulu crowds. The North Shore is the place to stay, and I would recommend the condo as the way to go. Staying in the condo actually saves money because you have a kitchen and don't have to eat every meal in a restaurant and can keep beverages etc...I highly recommend staying at the Estates of Turtle Bay! Bed is in need of a new mattress and the kitchen pots and pans have seen many rentals. No hairdryer in the unit, that was a first in my 15+ years of traveling and staying in condos. Property manager stated they had one but I would have to drive to them during their hours of operation which were 9-4, well after my day starts and before it ends so it was very inconvinient for me(I bought one at Foodland). Also they insisted we bring the keys back to the place even though they were closed. When it made their day easier they would have they keyes at the complex but for the customers it was you catering to them. We never saw or heard from them.There was so much hair in the drain in the shower the water would not go down, I ended up removing it and cleaning it my self(YUK!)but at least I did not have standing water half way up to my knees! We have been staying at the Kulilima Estates for >10 years, the complex looks good, they are putting on a fresh coat of paint. As usual the people that live there are very nice and we always feel safe. Next time I would pick another unit. Property Manager Response: Response from The Estates at Turtle Bay, Inc. The Estates at Turtle Bay is not allowed to have an office on the property. Therefore, when we have late arriving guests, for the guests' convenience, we pay the security people to give our guests their key packets. However, security will not accept the return of key packets, and guests need to return them to our office in Kahuku, which is less than 5 minutes from the condos. All this is made clear in our policies, and each guest signs a form that states that they have read and understand, and agree. Also, our policies form clearly states that we do not provide hair dryers. As far as maintenance issues, we send our man the same day, but we cannot fix things the guest does not report and chooses to fix themselves. Loved the location, but the 145 East condo was old and dirty A guest from Pensacola, Florida does not recommend this property. Stayed for 8 days in May, 2007 Unfortunately, we booked one of the least expensive condos and you get what you pay for. The bathrooms were mildewy and needed updating and the kitchen was old/unclean and ants were a problem. The carpets were old, dirty, and stained. We were reassured that it would be clean, but it wasn't. Luckily, the location is awesome on the North Shore. We would not recommend this condo, but we would try another one at this resort that is updated. The public beach on Turtle Bay is awesome - great for snorkeling. There were grocery stores close by. Oahu, especially the North Shore, is great for a family vacation. I was surprised at the condition of this condo. It was beautiful on the outside with the golf course, the pool, the flowers and palm trees. Would not recommend Turtle Bay 145 East unless it is updated and thoroughly cleaned. Fortunately, we were gone most of the day on trips throughout the beautiful island. We plan on going back soon. The locals are friendly and welcoming. Turtle Bay is georgeous!!!!
