Perfect for Family with small children A guest from Wasilla, Alaska recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in April, 2013 I loved the size of this rental for my family of 4. My husband and I traveled with an almost 3 yr old son and an almost 6 mo old daughter. We were able to pay $20 for a pack n play and the bedroom was large enough to set up the pack & play in there. My son slept out on the fold out mattress. I slept on the fold out for the first night too and it was actually comfortable. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable as well although a little hot with the temperpetic pad on top. We had no problem with noise from other neighbors. The location was perfect for a smaller family as well. We were able to use the pools a lot as well as walk the 5-7 min walk down to Turtle Bay. I loved that there was 2 different pools for kids so we usually had very little people there. Also, the Turtle Bay Beach was great and protected by rocks and reef so very little waves and calm water which was perfect for our son to learn to swim and play. The property is worn and dated, the shower didn't work well and other things were not up to par but it was clean.The management co. had a take it or leave it attitude and were not helpful at all, in fact they are somewhat rude. I ask for a ground floor and was told yes but it had 2 flights of stairs to get to it. All in all it was ok but I would not stay there again. Stayed for 32 days in March, 2013 The Kuilima Estates condos is an ideal place for an extended stay... lots of activities on resort but some activities may be overpriced... but you be the judge... However there are still so many other activities that are very reasonable. A hike, snorkeling, surfing (with your own equipment) walks on the beach, the sunsets won't cost you a cent. Our unit was nicely updgraded which made it easier to keep clean. Lots of extra sports equipment for available our use. A full kitchen and the washer & dryer is what makes staying at these condo most advantageous.. Home away from home. With a flat TV & wireless internet cable both a necessity for us on such an extended stay.The management company, Estates at Turtle Bay was the BEST... very receptive to our concerns and was prompt and professional in resolving any issue. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the lanai furniture. The plastic chairs and the stained and dirty table was not very inviting or comfortable. Excellent price and very comfortable furnitures. The place was clean, it had all the cooking equipments we needed, we were able to do our laundry and it was quiet and relaxing. The place was decorated tastefully and the couch and the bed were comfortable to sleep on. The remote control for the fan and lights ran out of batteries so that was one small inconvenience. The fan in the bathroom may be overly loud for those with sensitive ears. The little lanai at the back facing the golf course is a great place to enjoy the cool wind and it was really fun for my Dad to drive by our condo with his golf cart one morning. It was very affordable and thoroughly pleasant with a nice supply of dishes and kitchen supplies. The front room was relaxing and the television exceptionally fine and the bedroom was nicely appointed and the bed comfortable. We had easy access to every place in the resort. The a/c was a little rough but we hardly ever used it relying instead on the fresh breezes passing through the screen doors. For some reason we were not able to access the internet although it did seem to be working. But overall, those were minor concerns and the place exceeded our expectations. In fact, the photos in the ad were so good that when we step into the unit it felt like a familiar place. It was our privilege to stay there and thanks for making it available. Lower your expectations Reviewed by: A guest does not recommend this property. Stayed for 16 days in May, 2008 The condo location is not ideal. The Kam highway is in the back, so it's relatively noisy even though there is a golf course between the condo and the highway. The daily golf course maintenance (mowers, leaf blowers, edgers, etc) also added to the noise levels. It is a condo, so we were woken up many times by neighbors' crying babies. The management of the condo leaves much to be desired. The condo looked clean upon arrival, but we encountered dirty sheets, leftover half-used soap in the shower and stained towels. There was not enough supplies for our 2+ week stay. For four people, they left 2 rolls of toilet paper and a very small plastic container (reusable ones used to pack sandwiches) of laundry detergent to last us over 2 weeks. The condo has a minimal number of furniture. The kitchen seats only 2, there is no dining table. The furniture on the lanai is old, rusted and very uncomfortable. The kitchen had a lot of ants. The management told us that they spray often, but the ants do not go away. We bought ant killers from Walmart and within a couple of days there were no more ants. We liked the general location of Turtle Bay--it is our third stay there, but I would not stay in this condo again. It was on a cheaper side, but I would pay a little extra to feel like you are on vacation. We have stayed at Turtle Bay Resort many times but this was the first time we rented a condo at the site. We were extremely pleased with our accomodations. The unit was clean, nicely furnished and decorated. We especially enjoyed the ability to fix meals "in" if we chose. The kitchen had all the equipment necessary to prepare gourmet meals!!! All of this at a fraction of the price one would pay in Waikiki. We look forward to returning soon and bringing the rest of the family...We will need 3 units this time!! We highly recommend The Estates at Turtle Bay to everyone that wants to experience the "real" Hawaii! "Up Country Oah'u"..Golf, great resturants, wonderful beaches to explore, mountain trails to hike and of course, simply the best surfing in the world!
