4 Stars But Some Issues A guest from Discovery Bay, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2013 The place was nice and comfortable inside and provided everything (except some beach chairs that would have been nice). The only drawbacks were noise. This condo is so close to the main highway and is very noisy day and night. It is also right on the golf course and the gardeners were mowing the lawns on their ride on lawnmowers very early in the morning (as to not interfere with golfers) and lasted quite a while. Needless to say, we had to keep the back doors closed. There were sooooo many families in the complex with children who seem to love the pool area which is fine but the screaming children in the pool make the complex so loud so we kept the front doors closed as well. We were unsure what to expect due to a few mixed reviews. Don't know what they were talking about. It was great. Clean, spacious, peacefull especially after a week in Waikiki. Sure there were some tiny ants it is a tropical location after all what do you expect. Check in without any issue, check out - drop the keyes.Good and quite place to stay with family. Tennis courts work well at morning and evening, if you bring your tennis rackets. Wi-Fi access to internet, free parking close by, full kitchen.Nice walking trails close-by. Trails go to west and to the east from Turtle bay resort hotel, options to walk on sand service or around trees in shadow very close to the beach line. Best beach around IMHO Waimea Beach. Turtle bay beach for swimming is boring and small, waives stop by the lava barrier, sand quality poor, hotels close by occupied this beach with hotels chairs, big umbrellas.Close-by Foodland market nice place to buy food, and it only 5 miles in both side from this place, turtle bay in the middle between two Foodland?s.Will be nice to have shampoo in unit and useful in beach sets as chairs, blanket/mat, umbrellas.Will be willing to stay there again if it will be available. Best and most economical lodging close to BUYH Reviewed by: RICKEY S. recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2012 Best accommodations closest to BUYH. Very restful and quiet. Unit does show it's wear but is clean and everything works as described. Beds are comfortable. We didn't need to use the A/C at all. The washer/ dryer seemed newer and it was so nice to not go home with bags of dirty clothes. Bathroom fixtures work but shower could use upgrade and toilet "shirrils" loudly when flushed. Towels were provided and kitchen is ready to use for cooking. Ceiling fan in living room needs to be replaced or fixed as it hardly moves.Be sure to read all the info when using late arrival as we didn't see the security code for the WIFI until almost the last day. The only drawbacks were the ants (just an annoyance), the toilet makes a horrible screeching noise when flushed, and the shower wouldn't really engage all the way so there was a lot of water going to the tub instead of the shower. I thought it was a great value for the price. The pictures online do not show the great lanai space which overlooks the golf course and has some very comfortable furniture. We did quite a bit of cooking and the only negative I can think of is that we could not get a couple of the stove top burners to work, and the ones that did work always seemed to be on extremely high heat regardless of the setting. The only problem we had was that we arrived at night after a long journey and there was noone on duty at the carpark booth so we couldn't get in. We ended up driving to the hotel to get someone to ring and give us a code to get in. Would be a good idea to give better instructions if arriving after hours. We would like to have seen some more attention payed to the amenities (stove didn't totally work, toilet was unstable). We would also like to see some non perishable basics included for general usage (sugar, oil etc.). Perhaps there is a reason for the omission, but that would be a nice bonus. Beyond that we were VERY pleased with the wireless internet access. The walk to the beach was about 5 minutes, and for the rate we paid we can't complain as the beach was excellent.
