North Shore Condo A guest from Valley Center, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in February, 2013 We arrived at the condo late at night due to airline issues. Since there is no management office on site, we were given gate codes and information as to where we were to find the key. This all worked perfectly but the resort is pretty dark so it was difficult fo find the exact room. Once we found our location, we were pleased with the cleanliness and decor. Everything was exactly as it was stated on the web site. The only thing I noticed was that the housekeeping did not leave any bath soap at all. I know that they don't supply more than a day or two of supplies, but there was none. Luckily I had my own. It was so nice to have our own washer and dryer in the unit.If you are trying to decide about staying here, I would say that the bed was soft, so if you like a soft bed it is great. Also, it is a long drive to Honolulu but if you want to enjoy the peace and quiet of the North Shore, then this is the place for you. Stayed for 5 days in January, 2013 The condo was in a great location, we were able to go to all points of the island within one hour maximum. One day we even went to Wikiki for the day returning just as the sun set. The area is quiet and was bug-free while we were there. The only negative thing is we had to leave. Stayed for 6 days in January, 2013 This facility is over 30 years old but the unit has been updated with new floors throughout, a nice TV, and a very nice new bathroom. The owner leaves their car in the assigned space which caused me some confusion as this fact was not disclosed prior to my arrival but it was fine as there were a number of guest spaces available close to the unit. The only negative comments we would have would be that there was quite the infestation of ants in the kitchen when we got there. I tried to solve the issue (I dealt with that problem at home a few months ago) but they kept coming back, I could never find the source. Also there was no dishwasher soap or laundry detergent when we got there. Not too big of a deal but we were told there would be a small supply for a few days. The bed and pillows were way too soft for our liking but we are used to sleeping on a Temperpedic. Beautiful Location! A guest from Eugene, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in May, 2012 We've stayed at Turtle Bay many times and always love the area. This condo has a beautiful view of the golf course and ocean in the distance. The condo itself was built in the 70's and is showing it's age, but it is still comfortable and a nice place to stay. The king size bed was very comfy and we loved watching all of the birds that came to our lanai. The pool is just steps from the front door and never crowded. Estates at Turtle Bay Sharnee E. from Girdwood, Alaska recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2012 We had a nice stay in this unit. The owner was very gracious and accommodating to our last minute reservation (she saved our vacation!) The unit had everything we needed for our stay. The proximity to the Turtle Bay resort was nice, for an evening out. The trails for running were great for keeping us off the busy roads. The weather was terrible for our entire stay, however, it was nice to have somewhere comfortable to stay, away from the rain. The dryer broke the second to last day of our stay, and the management company offered up a dryer in another unit, so that we could take care of our laundry. We were impressed that the owner also called us, to check in and make sure that we were comfortable, and had what we needed and apologized about the dryer. We hope to visit again, and pray the weather is better. We would be happy to rent from this owner & management company again. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2010 I'm glad to respond, as I had planned to write an email to the management anyway. At first look, 93W was clean and well kept. But just walking into the bathroom revealed tiny ants EVERYWHERE, including in the cabinet above the sink and in the light socket. Then when getting in to bed at night, I noticed cobwebs under the chest of drawers, live spiders in webs around the room in the areas where wall meets floor and wall meets ceilings. When I went to turn on the air conditioner, I could tell that the small area under it was filthy. It couldn't have been cleaned recently. Some walls in the condo have a bamboo and string covering, which is dusty and spidery. I chose not to look under the bed for fear I wouldn't dare sleep on the bed. This was in the downstairs bedroom, but my son told me that in one of the bedrooms upstairs there was a shoe and other items of junk that had been left from other renters. Dirty and dusty there, too. Obviously, cleaners need to pay more attention to detail and the condo is so full of insects it seriously needs fumigation. My husband told someone at the office about the ants, and the response he got implied that "This is Hawaii, and ants are tough to get rid of." (not a direct quote.) But this was our fifth trip to Hawaii and our first time to have to deal with so many insects. One of the rooms upstairs had a broken air conditioner, and while the management tried to get a replacement one did not come within the 8 days we stayed there. I believe some of the other condos our family rented were cleaner than ours. I would come again and hope that I get a cleaner condo next time. All in all, the management was helpful in making rental arrangements and we would recommend Turtle Bay Estates to others. Our hope is that our feedback is helpful.
