Resort: Well-known resort, in the north-western part of the island directly by the sea, 24 km west from Puerto de la Cruz, 63 km north from Arona. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. For arrivals by plane: airport Tenerife (SUR) 39 km. Icod de los Vinos is surrounded by a very fertile valley, with a view of the Teide with dense pine forests from the top to the heighest parts of Icod. Bananas, fruit and wine (vid) are the most important product. Natural monuments: the Cueva del Viento is the third largest volcanic cave in the world, with more than 18 kms of development and the Play de San Marcos. Monuments and places of interest: Drago de Icod de los Vinos declared national monument in 1917.
