With tile floors throughout, the living area has a twin sleeper sofa, flat screen TV and DVD player. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, four-burner cook-top, convection/microwave oven, and dishwasher. A long hallway separates the living area from the bedroom with a second TV and king bed (two twins). The bathroom has a Japanese-style furo (soaking tub) and separate shower area with hand-held shower wand. Included with your rental are free local calls and WiFi. Located in central Waikiki about 2 blocks from the International Market Place and supermarket, this clean, well-managed building has 24-hour security, laundry facilities, a 4th floor sundeck with heated saline pool, lounge chairs, tables and umbrellas, and is also is home to the famous Hy's Steak House. We did have to buy some garbage bags however since there was none in the condo. I did feel it was a bit pricey after seeing what other same condos in that building were going for. If parking was included that would have been better. Bed was very comfortable and the sheets were great since they fit the bed very well. The living room furniture was uncomfortable to sit on after awhile. All in all though, it was fine. The negative comments are only to help management improve in these areas. Couple of things to be aware of:- The location is very central and gets a lot of road noise. The windows are old and do not keep the noise outside- There was construction noise all day - from within the building and from a construction next door. This was not disclosed at booking, and quite annoying.- The building itself is noisy, I woke up every time somebody flushed a toilet, the pipes seem to run down inside the bedroom walls.- The mattress is old and worn out, and the bed it too short, I am 6'2 tall and my feet were sticking out by almost a foot.- The apartment is smaller than the photos suggestThe unit was clean and tidy and equipped with everything you need. The check-in was easy, and the parking was convenient and cheap for the area. Check-out was at 11, but at 10:30 some woman came into the apartment, without even knocking on the door first. She asked why we had not left yet, and she wanted to start cleaning up, because the next guests would arrive soon. All together, this is not the greatest value for the money. My previous four times in Hawaii, I have stayed at other vacation rentals or hotel suites, this was the most expensive so far, and at the same time it was the smallest and oldest. Great location but outdated unit Janet B. from Columbia, MD does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2011 The building was nice, convenient, and very close to the beach and restaurants. The unit had a great view and all the things that you need plus beach chairs; however, it was terribly outdated. The furniture NEEDS to be replaced. The sofa was so old and the fabric just did not seem clean. The sleep sofa was scary-can't sleep on it. We complained to Barbara and she did her best to make it better. The bathroom was clean but outdated. The entire unit looks shabby. We would stay in the building again but would want a 2 bedroom unit. The one bedroom is very, very small; however,if updated and new furniture, a one bedroom could be okay for one or two people. We rented a car and Barbara found us a parking spot immediately in the building. Recommend renting a car so that you can see entire island and get out of the city.
