The unit should be condemned, gutted and replaced with current century amenities and comfort. Tenement housing would have been better.Noise level in the building as well as constant street noise, sirens, drunks or drugged revelers making excessive noise from dusk to dawn. |

Stay at waikiki shore #1316 Keke M. from Surrey, B.C. Canada does not recommend this property. Stayed for 10 days in December, 2011 Paul was great to deal with and very helpful as was booking through Captain Cook. We would not book #1316 again as we were very disappointed the safe keys were not available with the rental and this is an important feature for a safe vacation. Where does one store passports and valuables!Also this unit is in need of a reno. If you are going to rent this unit for the same money as others in the building you have to upgrade the unit. The furniture is a prime example of upgrading the sofa beds were horrible for sleeping on. So this is why we would not rent 1316 again of recommend to any one else. We repaired the sofa beds, a couple of springs had come off, and new mattress has been ordered for the double size sleeper. Did I stay in the same Unit 1316 as the others? A guest from Seattle, WA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 10 days in December, 2011 The specific unit, 1316, has not been updated (circa 1960?) and needs investment. The sofa beds were tattered (stuffing showing), included crumbling foam toppers, had springs missing, and my kids were miserable sleeping on them. We had to move the mattresses to the floor which was very inconvenient every night and morning. The sheets provided didn't fit the beds and there was one pillowcase for 4 pillows so they used the pillows without them (yuck). And yes, I thoroughly searched the unit for them. The plates, pots, etc. were all hammered. Even the beach towels were ancient. Really, spend a few thousand dollars at Costco and spiff Unit 1316 up. For $239/night, I expected the owner to at least cover the basics. Consider a remodel - I know the unit was clean but old bathtubs and bathroom tile never look it. And really, lose the stainless steel kitchen counter...how much damage can we renters really do to ceramic tile or granite? I specifically asked about the sofa beds and the Captain Cook person (Ingrid) assured me they were comfortable. Would recommend she spend a few nights sleeping on the two in unit 1316. The location of this facility is perfect and the view to die for. I will stay in this building again, but definitely not unit 1316. |

This guest usually stays in one of our condos that has brand new appliances with granite or corrian counter tops. Perhaps his expectations were of that. However he did see the condo online if not in person prior to booking. We agree that the appliances are not brand new, however they are very functional and in good working order. The carpet was not able to be cleaned prior to the guest's arrival because it was on the same day as another guest's departure. We offered to have the carpet cleaned while the guest was in house and our offer was declined. We gave him a cleaning credit. We also had given this guest a discounted rate for this condo at time of booking due to the fact he was booking close to arrival time. We feel that this condo is priced fairly for a large property with 701 interior square feet and a 129 square foot lanai. It is located directly on the beach in Waikiki. Waikiki Shore is the ONLY condominium located right on the beach in Waikiki. |

Our housekkeeping department checked out all the items on the list and they could find nothing wrong with toaster, it's nothing fancy just a plain white toaster. The coffee maker is fine, shows a bit of wear on the heating element but not enough to replace and works fine. The dishwasher has a bit of rust on the bottom rack, it is older but it works fine. We are sorry to learn that this condo was not up to our guests standards. We are willing to offer our guest a deluxe condo next time. Our staff tries very hard to accommodate our guests requests and just wish they would call us while in house so we might be able to remedy whatever issues they have. |

The pillows were also old and of bad quality and the linens and blankets were very bad. The extra blankets in the closet had many holes in them, etc. I would definately rent from Captain Cook again as I have before. Not this particular unit.
