Not The Best Value Reviewed by: A guest does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2011 I booked this location strictly because it fit into my price budget and the location/proximity to everything was great. My entire trip to Hawaii was fairly last minute so I didn't have many available options to choose from. I stayed in 2 other locations earlier in the trip and actually found some great deals. The first place I stayed in was also in Waikiki, just down the street from the Island Colony and the place was fantastic. It was stylish, modern, clean, had safe fob entry to everything, was $60 per night and had free parking included! The second place I stayed was closer to the North Shore and that condo was huge, private, ultra clean with all the latest amenities. I was VERY happy with those 2 stays. Staying at the Island Colony ended up being the only affordable option I could find for the dates I needed. The price was affordable but definitely not worth it in terms of value and what I was getting for that price. The room was a good size with a pleasantly large balcony. The bathroom was small, dingy and very bare. The kitchen was unusably tiny and there wasn't a phone in the room. There were also random personal items in the room such as reading glasses and a creepy Halloween mask in the closet. The worst part was that parking was $25 extra per day on top of the nightly rate. I could have taken that money and booked a water front hotel room for those 3 nights. The value of this location comes strictly from it's great location, pool and balcony.
