Beautiful Home - Many Problems Ken A. from Edgewood, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in October, 2007 I'll make this brief since I filled out a long review after our stay and sent it into the vacation company. The house was beautiful, location was awesome and it was furnished for a king. But the problems were many which I will briefly list below. 1. When we arrived we could not heat the pool since the function was locked out on the thermostat. Manager came and changed the code. 2. Later on the day of arrival we discovered that there was no hot water in some of the bedrooms. Maintenance man came and reset one of the two hot water heaters. Unfortunately we still had the same problem so the next day the maintenance man came back and discovered that there was a pump that was not working. 3. Broken refrigerator in the garage area - had fish in the freezer. Should have smelled that by the middle of the week, called again and someone came and hauled it away. 4. Last day of our stay a gemtleman came and cleaned the pool in the morning. We went to the beach and when we returned that afternoon the pool was half empty. Found that a pipe had broken lose on the pump. Manager came and closed the valves to stop the water from draining. Needless to say we did not have the pool for the rest of our stay. I did send a letter to the Vacation Company Office on Hilton Head with this information and was contacted by one of the managers. He promised us a discount if we rent again this year which we are planning to do. Hopefully they will honor their promise. Did get to know a lot of folks at the office and they were very professional and personnal. That's why even after all we went through I would still consider staying at one of their properties. The only complaint I have is that the cleaning staff threw the soap bars into the toilets and all of the toilets were clogged when we got there. We had to wait for a plumber to come and fix the problem. Other than that the location was great, the home is beautiful, walk to the beach is short and the pool area is perfect for a family with kids because it offers some shade throughout the day. We use the vacation company each year for our family vacation and all of the girls in the office are most helpful. We will continue to vacation in HHI and use Vacation Co as our rental agent.
