Off the living room is a balcony which offers a nice oceanfront view. You?ll find Ocean Dunes located on the south end of the island, along South Forest Beach Drive, a short distance from Coligny Plaza. Ocean Dunes is an oceanfront property that is situated about 70 yards from the ocean. Unhappy with the Rental Experience A guest from Canal Winchester, OH does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2010 I called ahead of travel to get directions to the Rental Office as there were not any to be found on the Website. I was told to arrive to check-in around 3pm, but check earlier if in town as it may be ready. I arrived with whole family at around 2pm and it was not ready. Came back at almost 4pm and still not ready - many in Lobby experiencing the same thing. Did not check-in until almost 5pm - had to keep the car running the whole time as family needed to wait and no room left in the office. No offer of anything for the wait - heard over the phone that the previous renters had left the previous day - why not ready ? The unit was smaller than presented on website, and not really Oceanfront ( more Oceanview. Found dead cockroach inside a sealed container in the cupboard. Very rundown in appearance overall. During this time of the year all of our units are generally rented and all must be cleaned between the hours of 11AM and 4PM assuming the guests leave on time. We generally never suggest that you show up early. Of course some units are ready before others, but check in time is 4PM. Driving directions are located on our website under the drop down for About Us. Maps and Directions. I looked at the discription and the pictures for Ocean Dunes 209 on our website and could not see how we mislead anyone as to the size of the unit and the unit is as direct oceanfront as the town of Hilton Head allows it to be. Perhaps next time you visit the island one of our larger units in Shorewood, Beach Villas, Ocean Club or Ocean One would better suit your needs.
