Off the living room is a balcony which offers a nice oceanfront view. You?ll find Ocean Dunes located on the south end of the island, along South Forest Beach Drive, a short distance from Coligny Plaza. Ocean Dunes is an oceanfront property that is situated about 70 yards from the ocean. Needed maintence work and cleaning but great location A guest from Connersvukke, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 When we arrived in our condo the dishwasher was full of dishes and it was obvious it was not working. I called the office that very day to report it and was told they would send someone over. Nobody showed the whole week of our stay and never heard anything from anyone about it. Needless to say, I had to wash all my dishes by hand during out stay. I was not very happy about that! The condo needs some serious cleaning. The couch is dirty and the comforter needs to be replaced. Other than that it is a nice condo at a great location. Tile floors, showers and decorum made you feel like you were on vacation but not compromising. Couldn't ask for better balcony view. Beds comfortable, ample kitchen supplies, and rooms set up to allow for privacy. OK, so a couple negatives- not much closet space,very narrow hallway, shower water little smelly, more than 4 people gets a little crowded. For an end unit overlooking the pool, it remained quiet although we were there the second week in September. Couple of small maintenance issues were the sprinklers are missing caps and looks very unfinished, dish washer was extremely noisey and we did have one palmetto bug experience but overall would go back to this location and unit in a minute. What is happening at OD? A guest from Dayton, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in July, 2011 I am concerned with the Ocean Dunes property. We have been coming to OD for 22 years. It has undergone many changes in those years. It has always remained our favorite place on the island due to its homely feeling, beach location and people that kept coming back. Since the tearing down of the old adventure inn building things seem to be going down fast. Old friends have let their time shares expire, they are not being asked to renew, and/or are choosing to not renew. Many amenities are disappearing and nothing new is being put in its place. this past year we noticed that the rock walkways have been removed. I assumed that they became too cracked up, but no replacement. the chairs at the pool are in terrible shape. many are broken and there are not near enough. I remember the days when the chairs surrounded the pool and filled the sun deck. I am concerned with the parking situation. I am sure that others from nearby condos are coming and parking in the OD lot and using the pool/beach access, etc. There is no longer a guard to check for parking passes as cars enter the lot. Workers used to straighten and clean pool area each morning. this year this was done once in two weeks. I love OD and love the area, I would hate to see it go away....I would love to have someone assure me that the property is safe and is not in trouble of going "under". Really miss the tike hut and the college kids that lead the crafts for the kids... Very concerned about the clientel that are being rented too these days. I do not want to switch locations on HHI.
