Chalet Capote is a chalet style duplex centrally located in the Bijou area of beautiful South Lake Tahoe, California less than two miles from Heavenly Ski Resort, the lake and beaches, Stateline, Bijou Municipal Golf Course, biking and hiking trails, and major grocery stores, banks and restaurants. The home is easily accessible from Pioneer Trail Road allowing you to conveniently avoid heavy traffic on Highway 50. The home has a large tree-lined backyard with hot tub and putting green. The two carports and driveway can easily accommodate four large SUVs. It is also located along one of the city's Go Blue bus routes giving you the option of using public transit during your stay.
The home accommodates up to 16 guests and the units may be rented together or separately making it an ideal option for both large and small groups. Each unit has a kitchen with kitchenware, washer and dryer, water heater, iron and ironing board, microwave oven, radio/CD player, TV, DVD player and VCR, private deck and assigned parking. Linens and towels are provided with the cleaning fee. Local telephone service is free and long distance calls can be made using a calling card although cell phone reception is very good in this area.
The upper unit is a 1,260 sf 3 bedroom, 2 bath with a 320 sf loft that has 2 bedrooms and 1/2 bath. The three bedrooms on the main floor have one queen size bed, one full size bed and two single captain beds. The loft has one queen size futon with a superior quality futon mattress and two single beds. The unit has five TVs with cable, three DVD/CD players and one VCR. The kitchen, which opens to the upper deck with views of the tree-lined backyard and Bijou Golf Course, has a KitchenAid self-cleaning double oven and built-in ceramic cooktop. The living room has an elegant pellet stove that warms the whole upper unit.
The lower unit is a 750 sf 2 bedroom, 1 bath with a queen size bed in the main bedroom, two twin bunk beds in the second bedroom, and a queen size sofa bed in the living room. The unit has a two TVs with cable and two DVD/CD players. For added convenience, it is just a few steps from your parking space to the front door.

Payment Options: Check or credit card using WePay. A 3.5% fee is assessed to credit card transactions.
Deposit: Refundable security deposit of $250. Additional pet deposit of $100.
Lodging Tax: 10% of the total rental amount.
Other Fees: Cleaning fee of $75 for lower unit, $115 for upper unit and $165 for both units.
