Views, Views, Views. This home in Greenwood is located just off Greenwood Road, between the road and Hicks Pond. The pond is locally known as a great fishing spot, but motor boats are limited to 5 horsepower only. There are kayaks and a small rowboat, as well as life vests available for use. The pond is too shallow in front for swimming, but it deepens at either end, although there is no public access point. While the pond freezes over in winter, the current is quite strong and we have never dared to walk on the ice.
The house is on three levels, four bedrooms, two living rooms, a full kitchen and bath. Once inside the house you cannot see another house on the pond. The ground floor has one bedroom, a foosball table, sliding doors opening to the pond level, and a small tv with sofa and chairs. The main level has a dining area/living room with extensive movie and book collection, full kitchen, full bath, and a twin bedroom. The wall overlooking the pond is full windows facing the western hills. There is a deck on three sides, and an enclosed yard for pets. The top floor has two bedrooms, one queen and one twin, both with sliding doors opening onto small balconies. The queen room overlooks the pond. The house is 7.5 miles from the Mt. Abram access road, and 7.5 miles from Route 118 in Norway. You can continue into Bethel on 26 from the end of Greenwood Road, it’s about 10 minutes to Bethel and another 10 to Sunday River.
This home does NOT have Cable TV, Dishwasher or Washer/Dryer. Our cleaning service is available for laundry service if needed.
