This lovely two bedroom rental unit is located in a quiet residential area a short 3-5 minute drive west of centreal George Town. Perfect accommodations for someone on vacation and wanting to explore the island or even someone coming to the island for short-term work. The unit includes a small efficiency kitcheneette with a mini-fridge, coffee-maker, two-burner hot-plate, microwave, kettle, toaster-oven and covered frying pan. Equipped with cable television and wi-fi connection if you are bringing your laptop. Air conditioning is located in the main bedroom and all rooms have ceiling fans. Both bedrooms walk out to a lovely private covered porch area. There is also a separate roof-top setting to enjoy the fabulous views, sun and breezes. This is also a pet friendly property.

You are only a short drive or walk to a grocery store or liquor store. Anywhere on exuma is not form the beach! on this property you are protected from the wind and noise of traffic. The outside porch is like being in a tree top! the little birds in the morning wait for their sugar treat on the rail. Wonderfully lanscaped!Inside is just like a little beach house! Our recent stay was in this absolutely sweet quaint apartment/cottage.The lady that owns it is very friendly and helpful! She was kind to have left a few groceries for us to start our morning. The colors in the apartment were so pretty and the wood pane patio dorrs with the sheers that led us out to the tree top garden was just gorgeous!Being a frequent visitor to Exuma we loved the the end of the road is the grocery store, liquor store and just a short walk or drive is the downtown!The porch which is outside both bedrooms was a great start to the morning..with little birds and hummingbirds. No beach is too far away on Exuma wherever you stay. We have stayed many times on the ocean but this was much more peaceful here and less windy!Would we recommend this property or stay again!..a big YES. thankyou! If you like living among the locals and get a connection with the community this is for you. The landlady is very friendly and helpful and everyone is trying to make you feel right at home. Stayed for 28 days in January, 2011 The owner was a charming lady and the place was clean and pleasantly decorated but there were many negatives.- noisy with the owner and two dogs on the floor above.- no sitting area except outside. Stayed for 6 days in October, 2010 If your idea of a vacation includes a low-key setting where you can fall asleep to ocean breezes and the sounds of the surf, waking up to wild finches outside your door, close proximity to several restaurants, shopping, and beaches, all at an affordable price, then the Periwinkle Cottage may just be the place you're looking for.My wife and I recently stayed at the Periwinkle Cottage for a week long stay, and without a doubt it was one of the best vacations we have ever had. The Periwinkle Cottage was perfect by being close enough to Georgetown that we had easy access to the Fish Fry, Minns Water Sports, The Augusta Bay Club, and many excellent beaches. However, the location was serene and peaceful enough that we also spent plenty of time just relaxing on the back porch (or the sun deck), reading books, watching the finches, and enjoying the ocean breezes. Additionally, the management staff are some of the nicest people you're bound to meet and took very good care of us.Some tips on visiting the Exumas: 1. Rent a boat from Minns Water Sports and go on a snorkeling adventure in the harbour. Stop for lunch at the Chat and Chill. Wear sun screen.2. RELAX.3. Have at least one dinner at the Fish Fry.4. RELAX.5. Visit many of the nice public beaches in the area.6. RELAX.7. Enjoy a dinner at the Augusta Bay Club.8. RELAX.9. Do one of the all day adventure boat tours; we used Four C's, which was a bit expensive, but it was worth every penny.10. RELAX.11. Take a trek down to Williamstown on Little Exuma.12. RELAX.13.
