I can't imagine doing it any other way now. The cabin was great and comfortable and the view amazing. The only problem we encountered was with the upstairs jacuzzi tub. As we got closer to Gatlingburg we started worrying if the property would be as good as it was described. It was BETTER! Our Cozy Bear cabin was perfect for us. We had a teenager, our married daughter and husband and ourselves. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, so privacy was never an issue. At night the old folks went to bed and the younger ones stayed up to watch tv on the big screen in front of the fire! Even though we knew there were cabins around us, we never saw anyone and felt as if we were the only ones on the ridge. Cozy Bear was miles away from the throngs of tourists, but close enough for us to drive into town everyday. Favorite memory: sitting outside in rocking chairs gazing at hundreds of stars and then jumping in hot tub :) We will be back! The roads up to the cabin are not for the feint of heart! It took us a day or two to get used to the mountain driving but by the time we left it didn't bother us. The cabin was awesome. The view was amazing. We could see the mountains from our upstairs bedroom and I still remember waking up everyday and seeing the amazing views. I think the only downside we could think of is it is about 20 mins away from downtown Gatlinburg. We would definitely stay at the cabin again unless we want to be closer to the downtown restaurants and activites. Stayed for 6 days in November, 2010 We had originally booked a resort in St. Lucia for our honeymoon but due to the hurricane we needed to alter our plans on short SHORT notice. We found this cabin and decided to go for it. It was perfect. It was relaxing and intimate. It was super clean and the bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept on in a long time. It was very scary arriving at night having to climb that mountain. I was almost ready to say stop and turn the car around but I am so glad we didn't. We got used to it after a few times. The only recommendation I would make is to install blinds on the windows on the main floor. I would have felt a litte more at ease because at night you can't see out but other can see in. The cabin is pretty secluded but not to the point where you feel in danger if something happened. All in all great place and will definitly be returning again to this cabin! When we arrived at Tree Tops it was not at all how it was pictured on the website. Furniture had been moved in each shot to make the cabin appear larger. It is not a 1 bedroom, it is two rooms. One room has a bed and a pool table. The other room is a kitchen/dining room/living room/murphy bed. It is not secluded, it is in a row of 5 cabins with 3 additional cabins across the street. Creek sounds below? What creek? There was a road right below the deck. There was a millipede in LR, dirt on the pool table, and Christmas decorations everywhere, it's September! We moved to Cozy Bear Ridge which is exactly as pictured, spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. The directions we were given, the scenic rte. added 1 1/2 hrs. to our trip. The high ratings we gave are for Cozy Bear Ridge only. The low ratings are for Tree Tops. For all future guests, please read the Tree Tops reviews on how wonderful the experiences have been in the past and continue to be. There were other issues that were "unrelated" to your stay and are "unrelated" to your experience with our management and cabins that clouded your experience upon arrival. We're sorry for that, but it is unfair to associate those unrelated events to the arrival at your cabin. We responded professionally and were courteous and made every effort, as we always do, to accomodate you and make you happy. That's our job and we are pleased to do it, however, the services from rental manager rating you have given us as a "1" is completely unfair given your unreasonable expectations due to your personal extenuating circumstances. But be sure you re-confirm your resrvations prior to leaving for your stay. You may be dealing with a third party booking agent and may end up with something other than what you thought you booked. Especially during peak season.We arrived to find we did not have "confirmed" reservations for the cabin we thought. After a few stressful hours, we did end up at Cozy Bear. It was an upgrade from our "confirmed" cabin at the same price due to the double-booking error.
