All linen is provided. Unit is non smoking. Pets are not allowed! Television and DVD player is in each room. Walking distance to Parkway is approximately 5 minutes. Trolley stop is in front of our lobby. Seasonal heated pool and hot tub located on the property, on site fitness center and complimentary high speed wirelWe have a large selection of DVD's, assorted video games, and XBOX game consoles at the main desk. Upon time to go to bed the first night stay, we discovered that the mattress cover and skirt had some stains on them. We reported it to front dress around 9:00 pm. We were told that someone would be right up. But no one showed up. We stayed up till after 11:00PM waiting on someone to take care of this issue. We had to put towels over the stains to be able to sleep in the bed that night. I went to front desk the next morning and we told there was no spare bed cover or bed skirts that those would have to be washed and be put back on and the ladies on the night shift should have told us that. It took all of that day to get this issue resolved. We feel that when the last person that made this bed before we arrived could not help but notice these stains and should have taken care of the problem before we arrived. Also as big as a place as this is there should be spare mattress covers and bed skirts that can be changed out in a timely manner. I am a timeshare owner and always stay at a timeshare unit on my annual vacation but my stay at the Mountain Vista, a short 3 nights in what we thought would be a fairly nice hotel suite, of sorts, was not expected to be as wonderful as it was. The unit was just as lovely as any timeshare . It was clean and well furnished and I slept better in the bed there than in my own bed. The complex was so nice and the staff went above and beyond. Since Gatlinburg charges visitors to park in their town to sight see it was nice to have a condo with the parking included for our stay. The Smokey Mountains are just up the block as well. Took hikes at Laurel and Grotto Falls and watched a bear eating leaves off of a tree. Spectacular. Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge wonderful as well. I have stayed in units 403, 411 and 414. They are all very nice and plenty spacious for our familys' needs. Having a condo scenario in the heart of Gatlinburg is a pleasant experience because it enables you to "spread out" and relax as if you're at a small home. With a kitchen, dining area and living room - all your immediate needs are met for all to enjoy. I especially like having the washer and dryer. Being able to wash your towels and clothing during the stay may seem a like a lot less vacation and too much work, but the way I see it... while I'm having fun I can also get that dreaded laundry done BEFORE I get back home! It may sound silly, but my biggest compliment will have to go to the bathrooms setup. Both bathrooms are well equipped with plenty of countertop space, double vanities and cabinetry. Thank you! I have stayed in so many places where your trip can all of a sudden become unpleasant because the bathroom space is so limited for all the guests. The design of Baskins Creek condos was well thought out and my stay was nothing less than enjoyable; I especially like the locations of units 403 and 414 because of the views. I'm not big on cramped hotel spaces - Thanks for the refreshing change in the heart of Gatlinburg! We walked down to the strip of Gatlinburg several times during our stay. We will be back for another weekend family retreat... we enjoyed it thoroughly. p.s. my only "nitpicking" for bettering the stay would be the bed sheets and towels by the pool. For some reason, they both had a very sour smell. I know they had definitely been cleaned, but the smell was strong. Luckily, we were able to wash them again on our own. Don't know if this can be prevented but I just wanted to let you guys know (I only experienced this in unit 414). *Not complaining; just trying to help you guys out! Thanks... Stayed for 3 days in May, 2008 With my father recently passing away I wanted to take my mother and othe family members somewhere that we could relax. Mountain Vista was more than any of us could hop for. The veiw from the balcony was the place see just why they call it the Smokey Mountains. The room was just like being at home and everything worked. The swimming pool was warm enough to actually swim in and the hot tub was just right. We hop to spend time at Mountain Vista in the future. Loved the cozy fireplace and the furniture was very comfortable. I immediately felt like I was at home. The bed was wonderful and the sheets were soft. The kitchen was very roomy and it is fully equipped. I wish we could have stayed longer! The only 'negative' was that you really don't have a view of the mountains. But if you know that going in it is not a problem. I have already recommended this place and certainly would go again.
