Best Vacation To The Smokies EVER! Lisa J. from Morgantown, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2012 We had never stayed in a cabin when we visit there. This time we did and had the best trip we ever had there. The location of this cabin was awesome! There were others in the same area from Elk Springs. This cabin was far enough up the mountain but not too far. It would still scare me to drive up to it in the snow or something like that because the road to it while not too long still had some pretty sharp curves and hills with no guardrails. But hey you are in a cabin the mountains! I guess that would be the case with any cabin in the mountains. I would still stay there again for sure! Loved the cabin. Such a beautiful view of the mountain! Very clean. Stocked with the basics very well. Loved the hot tub on the porch! Just a little too much chlorine in it though. Bleached what I had on in there and after showering I still had chlorine smell on me the next day. I would definitely recommend this cabin and Elk Springs for anyone who is looking for a cabin in the Smokies! Thanks Elk Springs for a great vacation! A few suggestions...make sure the latch on the trash cage works. This one doesn't and we had quite a mess when the bears got to it one night. Put sometype of blinds on the lower windows on the upstairs, as you cannot see anything on the TV screen in the afternoon. Give better instructions on how to handle the alarm is confusing for those who have never worked one. Otherwise, great fun. The location of the rental cabin was truly breath taking over looking the Smoky Mountains. We could not have chosen a better location to stay. If we needed assistance the staff immediately responded. Was a bit disappointed that the cabin was not private Debbie O. from Nashville, TN does not recommend this property. We thought we were going to be in a private place, not a community, dogs barking all night, hot tub extra small, couch was old and worn. I've stayed at your properties before on girl friend trips, and little the one was a disappointing---especially for the price. The views are great and the location was perfect! It's a short drive to anything you want or need in the Gatlinburg area. Sight Seer view was Amazing!!! A guest from Bryan, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2012 When we pulled up we were in awe, the view was incredible. When we entered the cabin it was beautiful and appeared as it was pictured online. We found out right away that there was no internet, and found that the master tub drain was not working well and several of the outdoor lights were burnt out. Contacted management and they promptly sent a team up to clean the drain and change the light bulbs and they even cut the grass while there. We however had to call several times before they finally brought us a hotspot for internet connection on the very last night of our stay. We really appreciated the fact that this company revealed the location of the cabin before we arrived in Gatlinburg so we were able to map it out before arriving. Also liked that they called us with the code which meant we got to the cabin even sooner. We will definitely consider Elk Springs Resorts the next time we decide to visit Gatlinburg. We were here for a week. The only complaints I have are that the grass had not been tended to in some time, the bath towels are like see through sand paper, one of the blankets was very filthy as if an animal had used it, and the cabin itself needs a spring cleaning. This all being said, my vacation was not spoiled nor unenjoyable in any way. These are simply things I noticed and may make the future guests happier if taken care of. Myself included! Stayed for 3 days in May, 2012 The cabin is not in the main Elk spring resorts property, it is few minutes drive from the main office, difficult to locate it, also there is minimal phone network, so we got stuck midway.the cabin, its impressing, beautiful, spacious, with a good view of the mountains, equipt, also has a pool table, a hot tub.Things which were not unto the mark: 1> the pots and pans were rusted and look as if they were picked up from trash. The water glasses were smelling badly, so we had to do all the dishes and glasses before using them.2> the security alarm system was confusing, and the alarm went off, we did not know how to handle it.. and the cops had to come to check. there were no proper written instructions on how to operate it. when we called at the management office, we were told to just not use the security alarm, which we would not prefer. there was no one to come by to check.3> the cells were removed from the fire alarm in the bedroom on the 1st level, which is a very dangerous thing to do especially in a wooden cabin, as the fire alarm will not work incase of a fire.4> the water in the common bathroom was clogging while taking shower and took a lot of time to pass through the drains.. making it inconvenient..also the shower knobs are confusing to locate , and no proper instructions are given anywhere on how to use.5> we also tried to call the management for all these issues, but it always went on voicemail, and we just got a call back from them once, while we were in minimal network coverage area, so we could still not communicate. also while we checked out, we tried to call the management office, but it still went on voicemail.. all this in proper work hours.7> there were 2 telephone handsets, one in the living room, and on in the bedroom upstairs. however only one worked, the one in the living room had no wired connection, and was blank.6> we never found any file which would mention any of these things. It was great. We really enjoyed ourselves. The cabin we stayed in was called The Sight Seer. The name of the cabin says it all. The view of the mountains was incredible. The cabin was beautiful. The kitchen was well equipped, modern and attractive. The game room where we played pool and chess was large with an exceptional view. The location was excellent; we were only five minutes away from the grocery store, restaurants, and discount store. The staff was helpful and considerate. We would definitely like to stay again. Stayed for 5 days in November, 2011 My experience at the cabin was wonderful....I heard from so many people that we were experiencing unusual sunny and warm November days...sometimes God hands you a small piece of paradise, and if you're lucky enough to realize it, relish it, and cherish it, then you're in for a week of heaven on earth. The cabin was spotless and the property management team resolved problems we were having with the television quickly and efficiently (Quick suggestion: can the management team afford to pay for local television channels? It would have allowed viewing of the NBC, ABC and CBS shows-but I can't complain.)The view from the deck was mesmerizing. We saw mountains, stars, and even some local wildlife. Beauty was in full bloom everywhere you looked....I would love to return to the cabin during the winter months...a good book, some soft music, and the view of the Smokies...Life can be very, very beautiful...and I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to all the staff at the Elk springs Cabin Rentals.
