This cabin is located just a short 12 minute and convenient drive from Elk Springs Resort. Relax in your own private hot tub while soaking in beautiful views of the great smoky mountains. Cajun Hideaway Spring Break 2013 A guest from Grand Rapids, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2013 We looked into several cabins to rent before renting Cajun Hideaway. We couldn't have been happier with our pick of cabins. Cajun Hideaway had everything we needed for our stay, the views are amazing and the location was perfect for coming back and relaxing after a day of hiking or having fun in the Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. We had friends at other cabins in the area and after looking at their cabins Cajun Hideaway was definitely the best of all the cabins we saw. The only issues we noticed was a lady bug issue that we were warned about on the fridge, however there were dead lady bugs left on the window edges in the upstairs loft and patio windows that could have been cleaned better before our arrival. Other than that, the cabin was extremely clean and well maintained. I would have given the management a 5 star, however I did call about one issue with the grill and never received a call back. It wasn't a big deal, but it would have been nice to be acknowledged. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay and we plan to come back and stay again at the same cabin or another cabin with the same resort property. She wanted to get away to the mountains to a secluded location that was close to everything. I was highly impressed with the location, the condition and all the amenities that was included in this cabin. This cabin was beautiful.. We got more than what we expected. My wife & her friends will be coming back to Gatlinburg and will go through Elk Springs Resort to book their vacation. We would also like to do a family vacation here with both sides of the family. I highly recommend Elk Springs Resort. This was a great vacation for me to unwind before my next deployment. The only negative thing I can say about the vacation is I am sorry that we did not get a chance to use the hot tub. But that was due to the weather. My wife & I will be back when I return from my deployment. The cabin is lovely and had everything we needed. The road up is steep, esp.the driveway, but it's not very long. It's located out of the city, close to the Arts and Crafts Community, and there's a zipline company right at the bottom of the road so there are things to do closeby. Bedrooms are downstairs so I wouldn't recommend for someone with mobility problems. The fireplace wasn't working while we were there but the weather was very mild so it wasn't that important. The management team did try to have it repaired while we were there and were very courteous and attentive. Wish we had stayed longer! This property was not on the resort We stayed the first week in July and can't wait to return someday. Cajun Hideway is not on resort property which is the reason why I choose this cabin because I wanted the feeling of being alone in the mountains but not to far from town. The cabin is about a 15 minute drive to Gatlinburg. The resort called us with a entry code so there was no waiting at a reservation desk to check in. We loved the pool table in the loft and playing cards on the deck in the evenings. After a long day in the Smoky Mountains hiking is was relaxing to return to "Cajun Hideway". Quite, beautiful view and secluded cablin is the way to experience the Smoky Mountains. The view was not quite the same as in the picture online..although the picture online looks like it was taken in the fall, when the trees weren't as big and full like during the summer months when we stayed there. The hot tub was clean. The shower had leftover soap scum on the soap trays, so it made me question how well the shower had been cleaned.The biggest issue was that both me and my husband had bug bites on our legs after sleeping in the master bed. The bites were not just around our ankles. I had two around my groin area, and on my torso. His were scattered on his legs. That was the biggest disappointment of our entire stay. That being said though..the TVs were great, the towels were plush, and the other amenities were wonderful. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2012 Our stay at Cajun hideaway was not very pleasant, the cabin was dirty from the floors to the bathrooms. Even the sheets my family had to sleep on were dirty. Some of the dishes in the cabin still had food on them. The cabin was covered in dust and dirt under the beds. This cabin should have been clean for the price that was charged for a cleaning fee. Not sure what was cleaned before our stay? The 3 postive things that can be said about the cabin is the beautiful view of the moutains, the plasam tv, and the pool table for family fun. P.S. writting this to make you aware that cajun hideaway cabin is not being clean. Well equipped, spacious and clean! However, the road that you have to take there was a little unnerving. My husband has a large truck and we were not able to make some of the turns without stopping and backing up. I am an upscale hotel kind of person, Hilton's and up is the type of place I like to stay. I was very impressed with this property and the management company. It was so wonderful to have so much privacy and seclusion but yet be close enough to everything. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2011 Our stay at Cajun Hideaway would have been nice if we had clean water.The water was orange couldnt use the water.Someone was sent out to look at the water and saw the same thing,and said the water needed to be left running till it cleared up.we used the tubs saturdaynight but the water still wasnt clear.While the cabin was nice it should not be rented until the water is fixed.We should not have to boil water and buy water from the store to be able to cook.This made our stay stessful we should be able to take a bath in clean water not wash off in a sink with store bought water. Top of the line customer service had 2 small issues and they were taken care of immediately (thanks,Don). We were able to enjoy all the amenities as we both became ill during our stay. No need to really bring anything plenty of linens, plates, silverware and etc. Gatlinburg about 25min away, local grocery 17min and Zipline tour (Climbworks)about 5min. Semi-secluded and just a really nice place to stay. Elk Springs customer service is just second to none and I would stay at any of there cabins due to that fact. The location was far away from things to be quiet and private but close enough that we could get to all the attractions easily and quickly. The kitchen was stocked with everything you'd need, except the food. The bathrooms were stocked with more towels than our family of six could use in days, besides having the washer and dryer to do the laundry. All the comforts of home,with the stunning view of the Smokey Mountains. Cajun Hideaway is by far the best place that we've stayed. The kids loved the pool table and having a tv in every bedroom. Toni and Gary have a absolutely wonderful home, and was well worth every cent. The only complaint were the directions. Do not follow the ones given by the resort. We were taken an hour out of the way to miss a little traffic. My suggestion is to take route 66 south off of I-40 to route 454 to route 321 turn left on 321 north. Go past Bent Tree Golf Course, an rv campground,and finally a self storage unit. Turn left at the very next road (Branham Hollow Road) turn left,then follow their directions. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2010 Most important to understand is this property is not in Elk Spring's Resort. Do to an unfortunate mix up we did not receive directions to Cajun Hideaway and spent a frustrating night trying to locate the property on the resort. No after hours property manager could be located or reached by phone. My family was forced to stay in a hotel and wait for our message to be returned.The property location is 9 miles further off of Hwy 321 N. The following morning the property manager was accommodating and we located the property. The Cabin was immaculate, beautiful, and had the most impressive view. The owners keep a journal for guest with pictures, a welcoming touch. I would not hesitate to recommend Cajun Hideaway to my friends, but I would give them the directions myself. For future reference, we do send out 4 seperate emails to guests prior to their stay with driving directions to the front door of this cabin. We also call on the day of check in to verify the address and make sure guests do understand where they are going. Great Cabin! Very, Very Clean! Nice view, but some traffic noise. The glass front on the fire place would occassionally shake violently! This needs attention.The high winds also, blew the pilot light out. The tv remote in the master bedroom did not work, probably needs batteries. The same goes for the unlocking mechanism on the front door. Sometimes slow to unlock door.
