I wish it were a bit higher up in the mountains but it doesn't take away from the beauty you see from the living room and bedrooms! One thing that wasn't so fun was the driveway.....if you don't have a truck it can be tricky and damage the front end and bumper of your car. We found that if the back passengers got out while pulling in and pulling out of the very steep drive way, the rear and front end of the car didn't hit the pavement! We had read the reviews, so we knew the driveway was bad. We figured the people complaining were probably driving small cars. We were in a SUV so I figured we'd be fine... I was soooo wrong. It doesn't matter what you're driving. This driveway is dangerous. They should REALLY consider making it a circle drive. Other than that it was great. House was nice, comfortable beds, gorgeous view. The location was nice for a wonderful view, a litte diffulty in manuevering the mountain roads at first, but after a time or 2 it was fine. The driveway at this particular property was terrible. Luckily we had a 4 wheel drive or we would have had a problem getting up the driveway. I do believe they should make the driveway more user friendly. My husband was very upset when he initially saw how steep the driveway was. Almost created a major argument between us, but I smoothed it over. But my husband was right in saying management should definitely do something about the driveway. Other than that, we loved it and want to go back. A few cobwebs were visible here and there, but we had a nice time and would rate it to be very clean. The internet and hot tub didn't initially work, but they were repaired in a timely fashion. Upon arrival, the driveway was horrible, and my car scraped entering and leaving. The internet did not work, so I called management. They said it wasn't their problem, it was the internet company. I had also called about the hot tub not working. They sent a maintenance man and he said,"I do not know how to fix it". So, over the weekend, the internet and the hot tub were both unusable, and management did nothing to help. I would not refer anyone to stay here. The bedrooms were good sized and the jacuzzi tubs were fantastic. The view off the deck at the rear of the cabin was beautiful. Very peaceful location but not too far from town. The only drawbacks were the driveway, which was very steep and short, making it difficult to park and the cleanliness. The blinds were very dusty, as were the window sills and there were big clumps of dust on the wall behind the couch. There were outlets in one of the bedrooms that had no face plates on them. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2009 When we first arrived at the Grandview I noticed that our Hot Tub was not heated and very low on water. After placing water in the tub we were not sure if it was heating because the controller display was scratched off. We call for help and maint did show up and left directions for the tub. After we call the front office I left a message for a manager to call me back but did not receive a call. The pool table was old and only one pool stick had a tip. The hot tub finally heated up and we were able to use it on Sat night. Friday was spent watching TV because of the tub and pool table. I will not stay back at this property. Also there was not good cookware for us to cook with. The grill was rusted and the overall appeal was not there. The grill was gross, I had to cover it with special gril foil to use it, which was a separate trip to the store. There needs to be a table on the patio, somewhere to have coffee and read, etc. The bedroom to the right...marron bedding, the mattress DESPERATELY needs replacing. Nobody was able to sleep on it, my daughter tried, and got up in the night to lay on the floor, and I was on the couch. The shower drain in the maroon bedroom had back mold around it. It needs to have the drain removed, properly cleaned. There is potential to be a nice place, but was dated in decor....very hodge podge yard sale from the 80's, which wouldn't deter me from coming back. But the Hot Tub not working until our second day, and I realy had to follow up to get it fixed, AND the matteress being so bad, makes this a cabin I would avoid. There are too many neat looking cabins up there, just plan in advance to get a good one. My stay at A Grandview (Don't think I would stay again) Brenda A. from Greenwood, IN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2009 The chalet was nice but it could use directions to operating t.v.,3 remotes and nothing to show how to use them..a few more pots and pans , a cookie sheet and most important,some steps or a stool to get into the hot tub , I was very disappointed that there was no way to get into the hottub except jump up on the side if you were tall enough.I am short and there was really no way to get in.I also cannot believe I am the only one who would have mentioned this before I did feel like I did not get to take advantage of the amenities..Also the shower had mildew around the the drain and door and the jacuzzi tubs had mildew around the jets.Someone really should spray some mildew remover there.EWWHHH!!! .Everyone at the management was very nice ,except when we first checked in and she was not friendly at all,only time she smiled was when she figured out she had given us the wrong key at first...:(		Overall Satisfacation show detailed scores Services from rental manager Cleanliness Location Property Condition

Stayed for 5 days in October, 2008 My 5 day stay was ok. receptionist not friendly in giving directions to the company to pickup key...check in, not a warm welcome at all; very steep driveway; an awesome view; deck too small in width; hot tub too close to door; hot tub broke and dirty; night receptionist very nice; repair and maintenance guys very friendly; suggestions: level driveway, add better cookware, give MAPS with directions to locate cabin or chalet not written directions, add garbage disposal, get a guestbook and most of all, greet your guest with warm smiles and caring hearts. Would recommend this company and property to a friend and would return myself if these changes are made. Very good weekend at A Grand View Whit S. from Murfreesboro, Tennessee recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2008 I marked 3 stars with the property location only because of the driveway. It is damaging to the vehicle and unsafe to enter or leave. The vehicle bottoms out and the front and rear bumper will drag no matter how you approach the drive. This should be reworked and it would impact our decision as to staying there again. The property was great other than that issue. We enjoyed the stay very much. To exit the drive, I would turn right, go to the curve and turn around and pick up everyone at roadside. To enter, reverse the procedure. Beautiful chalet, well equiped, very clean and met or exceded our expectations other than the driveway. Thanks for the opportunity to respond. Comments on our stay at A Grandview A guest from WOKING, SURREY recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2008 Overall we enjoyed our stay. The cabin was spacious and comforatble although the beds were a little on the soft side.A couple of comments which others potential visitors may find useful:-1. The gradient of the Drive is so steep that it could only be used by a 4 wheel drive vehicle - shame that there was no mention of this as we had to park our rental car on the side of the road a 100 yards or so from the Property2. We were disappointed that there was no Information Folder provided by American Monutain Rentals - we saw an Information Folder when we visited some friends who were staying in another Cabin which they had rented from American Mountain Rentals. The folder supplied information about the Cabin and facilities in the local area.3. It would be nice if some basic food ingredients were supplied such as salt, pepper (there was a salt and pepper set at the cabin but no salt or pepper inside!), sugar - we were sure that previous occupants would have left some such items but they had clearly been taken away, presumably, by the Cleaners - again at our friend's cabin they found basic items had been several items which had been left by previous occupiers including cooking oil - our friends were grateful for the use of such items. A beautiful chalet to come back to at the end of the day. View was great with the hot tub overlooking the trees. A super clean and well maintained chalet. Huge rooms and had a big screen tv and cable and internet access. The staff at the office were very helpful and courteous. Mike McQueen was very helpful with directions to the chalet and with questions we later talked to him about in the area. I higly recommend A Grandview to others visiting the area. HAD TO LEAVE A 10 DOLLAR DEPOSIT FOR THE KEYS FOR WHICH I DID NOT GET BACK. i left the keys on the table telling the maid maybe she could turn them in and get the money. i was not going to try to drive back through that mess sunday morning to get the ten dollars back. you would of thought they would of suggested leaving them there after they never informed us of what was taking place in the city that weekend. very poor communication and mgt.
