The cabin was promptly ready upon our arrival and absoulutely spotless. The two decks overlooked amazing views of the mountains, especially beautiful this time of year! The location of this cabin was perfect given the heavy traffic this time of year. We followed the alternate route given by the resort to avoid traffic and it was a life saver. It was about 30 extra miles but worth the distance for time saved sitting in traffic. We had no issues with this cabin but did meet the owners which were on property to assist if we needed anyhing. I would like to start off by saying that when I first walked in the cabin, it was so clean that I felt I was the first renter of this property after it being built. The cabin was everything I wanted and more.The location was just right, not too far and not too close. When I did need the property manager, he came **** near within seconds of me calling. I will be back again and am even considering getting a time share down there. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2011 After searching tripadvisor for the perfect place to spend a few family days after Christmas we agreed up the Bear Den! We were not disappointed. From the beautiful starry night views from the hot tub at night to the sunrise over the mountains in the morning our days and nights began and ended perfectly! A family of 4 we decided to spend some of our "present money" on a trip instead of the usual gifts at Christmas. The directions given to us lead us right to the cabin and mapquest provided accurate directions to bypass the traffic at night. The cabin was decorated completely to theme and so cute. the kitchen amenity allowed us sleep in and prepare our own breakfast, but also allowed us to make it to town before the crowds. The pool table allowed us to play team games or one on one. Overall this was an excellent choice for our holiday trip. The only negative is that we had a couple of issues, the BOSE system and the hot tub, which probably amounted to our user error, but after calling to report it, the issues were fixed by the time we got back to the cabin that evening. If you choose the Bear Den you will not be disappointed. It is another day in Bearadise! It was about 20 mins drive from actual Gatlinburg proper(which I didn't realize), but the location was peaceful with beautiful views. The cabin is built into the side of a mountain, so don't expect a yard; which if you have small children you may need to consider,esp.for safety reasons. However there are plenty of places to hike nearby and plenty of other activities to keep your family occupied. The cabins was unbelievably clean and stocked with everything needed. It was very cute! The mountains were beautiful. We really enjoyed the deck. The property manager was very helpful and friendly. We had a couple questions, and he answered both calls on the first try. The ONLY negative thing we can say is we were disappointed in the location. While the mountains were BEAUTIFUL, we were right upon other cabins. There were privacy blinds which made it okay, but if we were out on the deck at the same time we could hear them. So, we would have liked more privacy. Also, the road noise is pretty bad until about dark. Another draw back is new construction is being done above the cabin. We heard construction noise the whole time we were there. That is also going to cause even more lack of privacy when the cabins are finished. But, the cabin itself was incredible and the company we went through was fabulous. No hassles, and our check in and out went very smoothly. I liked having electronic access and a security system in the cabin. We didn't have to worry with keys, and we felt safe. When we first arrived, we were worried because it was right next to a couple of other cabins, which was not mentioned on their website. However, the design and layout of the cabins was such that it wasn't really an issue; in fact, we didn't see anyone else until 5 days or so after we got there. The cabin was very nicely decorated, and had a great view of the mountains. It was also in a great location, away from town, but easy to get to wherever we were going.
