I was pleasantly surprised that everything had been updated. Loved it before, even better this time. Great view and location that you are so close to the Gatlinburg Shops, The Smokey Mt Park, or Artist Loop. The cabins in that area, because of the great view, are close together but we hardly saw anyone else perhaps because of the timing of our trip.Loved the cabin!!! The management was very helpful and professional. However, the hot tub was really dirty with leaves and dirt so it wasn't usable. The private sauna (the reason I booked the cabin in the first place) did not work and it did not get fixed before we had to leave. I would recomend this cabin to others but call and make sure everything works before you pay hundreds of dollars for a cabin with a broken sauna and a nasty dirty hot tub. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2012 We don't usually stay at cabins because my husband always has free stays at Hilton properties. We decided to try this and it was wonderful. The hot tub needed some updating and you could change the carpet color but we loved the view and everything about the cabin. The location was a little hairy to get to but understanbable once you saw the view. We should of spent more time lounging around the cabin but spent most of our time in Gaitlinberg. One suggestion would be to have a listing of TV channels for your guests and to maybe have a TV upstairs by the jacuzzi. Also our sauna light was out and there were no instructions on how to use it so we lost out there and we were looking forward to it. We got out to get in the jacuzzi and didn't have hot water, so we couldn't clean up and go out that night. We called at 9:00 the next morning and they fixed it about 10:45. We had to wait till the water heated up so that was about 12:00 before we could clean up and get ready to go out. Our plans were to get up early and go have breakfast and do some shopping. We left at about 1:30 and got a late lunch. The last time we rented from them we had to call maintenance twice. I think we should be offered a discount, a free day, or so much off our next visit if we decide to rent from them again. Other than that and the bathroom floor having hair on it, the visit was OK. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 I was happy overall with our stay, but my only negative comment is that from the pictures on the internet, it looked like the view from the Cuddly Bear cabin was open to the entire valley. However, when we arrived there were trees blocking over half of the view. The view is on of the main reasons that I selected this cabin. I could tell that the cabin next door has a much better view. Maybe the pictures were taken in the fall or before the trees grew, but the view wasn't what I thought it would be like. Otherwise, it was a very nice stay. This time we went with a Chalet and the Chalet had a few things that were not of the usual upkeep & quality that we had experienced in the past but the American Mountain Rental staff we as wonderful as they have always been and we ended up staying an exta night. I would not recommend this Chalet to friends but would recommend the previous ones that we have stayed in. However, there was major dust on bedroom furniture along the drawers and base, top of the headboard and along the walls in all the rooms. Carpets were swept, but there was so much dust in these areas it was gray in color. Since I am a real estate broker I noticed this right away and my alergies didn't really appreciate it. It is just a suggestion that perhaps every month or so, these areas be addressed. Overall the experience was good, but you might want to put this info into the "job jar". The hot tub was extremely hot. The carpet was very stained and full of cigarette holes. We liked this location - close to Gatlinburg and easier to get to but too far from Office for towels and returning keys - took over 1 hour to drive back to office to get $5 key deposit back - ridiculous! We were not pleased with our overall stay and way the office handled our situation. Maintenance did a decent job coming out - we had to call twice for hot tub & sauna. Ladies in office were nice but ineffective for creating a pleasant experience. We don't feel we got our money's worth from this company and don't plan to go back. We will let our church & friends know that we were disappinted in this vacation experience. This was our anniversary and Christmas gift and was considered a special vacation for our budget. We were disapponted that we were not offered an additional day or evening's credit for our trouble. We let the office know we were not pleased with all the trouble and time wasted having to move into another cabin. Wish we had the time & money back to enjoy. Cuddley Bear - Our Home Away from Home John R. from Cincinnati, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2008 This was our fifth stay at the Cuddley Bear Chalet. We have never had a bad experience there. We have been to other chalets in the Smokies, and this one is by far the best 2 BR there is! It is always spotlessly clean when we arrive and it has all of the amenities we need for a perfect stay. We stayed there for our 25th Anniversary and fell in love with the chalet. We have rented that chalet from 3 different rental companies, but American Mountain Rentals is heads above the rest. They try to accommodate our every need. We have rented other chalets from them for different occasions, and we have recommended them to many of our friends. Cuddly is the absolute best! The office provided great directions - by friendly professionals. Cuddly Bear was actually more than I expected since I did everything over the internet it was difficult to visualize all. Just a note that , it was Great but it would have been nicer to have an upgraded tv along with a tv in the master bedroom. The view from the back could have been spectacular but was half because of nature, close trees blocking some of the best view. The back balcony, I was told was private but, not if your next door neighbor to the right is on his balcony - Perhaps a privacy screen to the right side would help. This should be made clear as it would be more convenient during check-out to have the office located closer to the cabin rental. When the fog lifted on our first morning, we were awestruck by the view, and we spent quite a bit of time outside either in the hot tub or just sitting and watching nature.
