A short drive will get you to the Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Moody Gardens, take a ride on an 1800's Paddle Wheelboat replica the 'Colonel' or, the Duck Tours. Near the fishing pier and jetties and the miniture golf course.This modernly decorated property features amenities for 8, so whether you are a family looking for a getaway or couples breaking away, this is the place for you. Entering the home you'll find an inviting living area with wood floors, futon sofa to sleep 2 and the TV with cable. Bedrooms 1 and 2 have a queen bed. Bedroom 3 has a pyramid bunk with a full on the bottom and a twin on top and a TV for kids entertainment. A window unit in each room gives individual satisfaction to climate control. Great Location! A guest from Princeton, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2013 We enjoyed our stay. The location is great for beach access, Pleasure Pier, local shops and restaurants. The beds are comfortable but small (two bedrooms have full size beds and the 3rd bedroom has a bunk bed, the top a twin and the lower being a futon). It would be nice if the full beds were at least Queen size beds. The living room was cozy but small (wont really comfortably seat more than 3 or 4 people) All in all we enjoyed the stay and it is in a GREAT location. Adorable rental home close to Pleasure Pier Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2013 My two sisters, brother-in-law and I rented the bungalow for a week trip to Galveston. The house is very cute and well maintained and was very comfortable for the four of us. It is within a 5 minute walk to Pleasure Pier and close to the beach and many restaurants and shops. It was definitely a bargain for the proximity to things to do in Galveston. The only downside is the neighborhood - which has some homes (like the bungalow) which are well taken care of, and others that are in disrepair. However, I'd still recommend this to others as a nice, convenient place to stay in Galveston. Great location and use of compact space A guest from Jackson, MS recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2012 My family of seven spent Christmas week at the house. It is small, but cleverly arranged to make the most of the space. The beds are comfortable, and the kitchen well-stocked. We also enjoyed the back patio. The neighborhood is modest and "real" and only a block and a half to the seawall and about six blocks to the Pleasure Pier. The back porch was a bonus for us and the dog. It has two TVs but we could not tell that from the listing and ended up lugging another one that we did not need/use. The only thing we needed that was not provided was a whisk or hand mixer. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2012 Overall this was a great location right near all the good restaraunts, easy to find, walked to the beach, enough privacy and i felt it was safe. The neighbors on the right side of the house facing yhe street were very noisey played music for 12hrs straight our first night. Parking is limited but you can park up to three vehicles comfortably in the street. Great service good house equals a happy customer. Will definately consider these folks again. The only drawback we encoutered was the neighbor to the left of us played music so loud that is shook the windows @ 7:00 am through half the day. So, we left and went to the beach. I suggest a nicer sofa in the living area, very uncomfortable to sit or sleep on that futon. The bedrooms were very comfortable and we had everything we needed to feel at home from the BBQ pit to beach toys for the kids. Really Rough Neighborhood A guest from Dallas, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2011 The place itself was decent but we decided to go stay in a hotel once we saw the neighborhood it was in. There were bitbulls on chains and many of the houses surrounding the rental were run down and abandoned. There were dogs barking non stop. We did not even stay there one night and when we called the management company and told them they were polite and said they would give us a refund. We only got about half of our money refunded, plus we had to pay for a hotel room because we didn't feel safe staying there. The place itself was small but clean and had it been in a different location it would have been just fine. This review has reminded me of how angry I was with conditions at this property and how disappointed I was with The House Compan A guest from Christiansburg, Virginia does not recommend this property. Stayed for 11 days in June, 2007 I chose this property because of it's proximity to my parents and siblings. That was all that was good about it though. There was no local phone, costing me about $500.00 in roaming charges by using my personal cell phone for local calls to and from family for ten days. There was no clock in the house; I had to borrow one from my sister. There were gigantic roaches. The beds were not comfortable. The window units were loud and rattling (two in the bedrooms were eventually replaced after I complained several times about the noise). The cable went out after the first day and we had no television for the remainder of our stay, in spite of several calls to the property manager. Front porch decking was caving in. Entry gate was hanging and swinging open constantly. Upon checkout, I requested in writing that The House Company at least partially reimburse me for the cost of using my cell phone and general dissatisfaction and never received a response or acknowledgement from them. This review has reminded me of how angry I was with conditions at this property and how disappointed I was with The House Company in general. We have family in Galveston and will continue to visit annually and stay in rental housing - but not through The House Company.
