Misleading listing, poor rental company Tim from NOVA, Stayed for 0 days in February, 2013 The house is decent but not as listed. I had 3 main criteria when picking this house. Hot tub, fireplace and a grill. That's how I searched, that's how it was listed, that's why I booked it. My group included a professional chef, hence the need for a grill. The grill was an unusable fire hazard. It was in such a state of disrepair that the grates had collapsed from rust. The heat distributors were crumbling like crackers. It obviously took a long time to rust that bad, more than a year. See the pics. We brought a good amount of food specifically for grilling and it was a waste. The rental company refused to compensate us for the trouble and cited some small print about "Grills are generally stored for Fall and Winter Season, are not serviced, and are not guaranteed" to hide behind rather than doing the right thing. Clearly the grill was not serviced but it was listed as an ammenity non the less. I don't know which is worse, an incompetent rental company or an owner who leaves a fire hazard on a wood deck. I would like to have better things to say but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended. The location and proximity to Wisp were good. Also, be aware that the rental company may not protecting your personal information as the details of my reservation were disclosed and discussed with persons other than myself and without my permission. I had to have them change the lock code for the property because the first code given to me was compromised. As a person with government security clearance, I take this type of thing seriously. Property Manager Response: While we go out of our way to match a great home for every guest's specific needs, we unfortunately do have the occasional guest who is clearly not seeking a great vacation experience; rather a 'free' rental experience. Certainly Quiet Seclusion is a spectacular home, as all of the other reviews point out. However this particular guest tried tricking our reservationist on multiple occasions by having various people call trying to get information about his reservation. None was given out - our standard policy. This guest then called after his departure to complain about the grill not being serviceable (we knew in advance it was not - it is scheduled for replacement this Spring when grills are again set out and serviced). I pointed out to this guest that grills are not customarily set out in Fall/Winter as they get damaged from the weather when left out. This grill was out in order to be picked up by our maintenance man for disposal. I let the guest know that Offlake is always happy to bend over backwards to accompany our guest's request. Had this guest mentioned when placing his reservation that it was important to have a grill accesilble, we would certainly have accommodated his request, as we have for other guests at other homes. But to call after your departure and say 'I expect money back' because of a bad grill, which was only out to be disposed of, is not acceptable. Then this guest went on to say 'if I don't get money back I will post bad reviews'. Again, we have no reason to bend to the unreasonable demands of a guest. We prefer to accommodate the reasonable requests of our guests. Finally, had this guest not tried deception from the outset and instead focused on specific requests to make his trip most enjoyable, we are sure that he would have had a better experience. While we are sorry that he felt the need to try to deceive and extort money, we know that we provided an excellent home, Quiet Seclusion, that has provided an excellent experience for many, many guests! Rest assured that Offlake does indeed have policy in place that prohibits disclosure of customer information! We provide a great home at a great price - please be appreciative of that. This homeowner has shown a ton of 'owner pride' in his home and it definitely shows!		Overall Satisfacation

Perfect Betty from PA, Stayed for 0 days in June, 2012 This is the only house we have found that is totally Wheelchair accessible and has the number of bedrooms we need. The only problem we found was the air conditioner. When it was comfortable upstairs, the basement bedrooms were really cold. Beyond Expectations! Rafting Group from Mentor, Ohio, Stayed for 0 days in May, 2012 The rental house was very bit as nice as it looks in the pictures. We all enjoyed the house and the amenities it had to offer. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a place to get away from the stress of life. Every thing was well kept and clean. We had twelve people staying at the house and we had tons of room, very spacious. Plenty of things to do or you could just sit back and relax. We travel as a big group once a year and thus far this was the best place. Only two issues, Before we got there the garbage bins out front were over filled and of all the TVs and radios in the house the down stairs TV and Radio was not working. We found that everything which contributes to a positive experience is either easy to locate or operate. The house has been well cared for, and it shows. The path to the stream at the rear of the property is a plus. The directions posted on the web site bring you in from the south. We experienced no difficulty coming in from the north. Getting into the cabin was a breeze with the electronic lockbox. The front lights were left on when arriving which was great since it's really dark pulling into the area. The cabin was clean and well kept, no odors and linens were provided in each room. Plenty of board games were available, which was great. A Wii was there as well, but one of the games was missing. The hot tub was definitely a nice touch. The grill was good to have and propane take provided, but the grill itself wasn't cleaned too well since last use. The Perfect Get-a-way for a Large Group of Friends KBrock from Pittsburgh, PA, Stayed for 0 days in August, 2011 We came to Quiet Seclusion for our friend's 30th Birthday Weekend and this home could not have been more perfect. There was enough room for all of us and then some. The kitchen was new and had everything we needed to make large meals for the group and everyone tended to gather around the island each morning and as it got close to dinner. The large wrap around deck was such a relaxing area, with a group playing cards around an outdoor table, others lounging in the hot tub and still others grilling up steaks or burgers. The game room was just what we were looking for and the billiards table was in great shape. The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean and clearly well taken care of. One thing that surprised us were that the photos in no way did this home justice. Also, in the photos this looks very open but it is surrounded by woods and a few of us had a great little adventure hike one morning. The best part for a group of friends is that there were really no other houses very close so we did not have to be concerned about making too much noise. I would definitely recommend Quiet Seclusion and will likely rent this home again.		Overall Satisfacation

Such a nice home, very well equipped, clean, bright and comfortable. Hot tub was fabulous! Offlake rentals was extremely efficient and so easy to deal with. Dishwasher was backed up when we got there and a couple of light bulbs had been burned out. Within 1 to 2 hours they had everything taken care of. Very comfortable beds and furnished very nicely! It was a perfect size for our family. It was very inviting and relaxing and had plenty of space for each party to have a place to be alone. very close to the wisp for skiing and grocery stores were right up the road. we have plans to go back next year and stay here again. The outdoor hottub for adults and the yard for sled riding for the kids was one of the many added bonuses to the house, i do suggest if coming to this house in the winter and they are getting alot of snow that you have 4 wheel drive for the driveway. great home away from home!!!!
