Our 2nd time staying at The Old Crow... John F. from Columbia, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2017 This year's stay at The Old Crow Cottage was as pleasant as last. The place has character. Best for couples or singles as space is limited. But since it was only the two of us, not a problem. On a side note, we have observed that the posted rental office hours don't seem to be etched in stone, at least in late October. However, rest assured this isn't a problem as Cort (the rental agent) makes sure you have everything you need. Another nice thing about the Old Crow - it's only a mile or so outside the village. Despite close proximity to I-93, the cottage is quiet and peaceful. |

Great cabin for a week away Jackie A. from Enfield, CT recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2017 My husband and I wanted to take a week and hike in the White Mountains for our anniversary. I spent a long time looking at cabins, and most of the ones I found that were affordable were also lines of cabins right on top of each other and right on a major road. I wanted something with more privacy. The Old Crow Cottage was perfect. It's very close to Route 93, so you can get anywhere easily, but it still feels private since it's a single house set along a fairly quiet road across from a brook. There's a grocery store and gas just down the road and several restaurants within a reasonable distance. The Cottage was clean, comfortable, and just the right amount of space for us. The shower is very small, but that's a trade-off for having a washer and dryer in the cottage, which was very useful the day I ended up ankle-deep in mud on one of our hikes! The chairs by the TV were comfortable and there were plenty of lap blankets around which I thought was nice. It was great to be able to spend the day hiking or exploring NH and then come back to a cozy cottage to make dinner and spend a quiet evening together. We're already considering coming back next year! |

Nice, cozy Cabin A guest from Florence, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2017 This cabin is excellent for a getaway. The only problem was there was a strange smell present that was noticeable after leaving the house with the windows closed for the day. It could have been a dead mouse (there were several mouse traps visible around the house) or perhaps something to do with the washing machine setup. The smell generally dissipated after about an hour or so with the windows open, and then was only noticable if in the bathroom. |

Old Crow Cottage met our vacation needs nicely A guest from Columbia, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2016 This was the first time we'd done a vacation rental of this type. We found the Old Crow Cottage to be exactly as advertised. It is small, but perfectly adequate for two people doing a week's stay. I should mention that the shower stall is pretty narrow, so a bit of a challenge for long-limbed people. Even so, we enjoyed our stay quite a lot. The location is great, just outside the town of Franconia. Although close to the Interstate, the property is quiet and semi-secluded with nice tall trees in back. Property Manager Response: Response from Franconia Notch Vacations While we do wonder some on how 'Services from Rental Manager' ranked lowest, it is so great to hear that you "found the Old Crow Cottage to be exactly as advertised." and that your first time vacation rental experience was over-all positive. Your honest and open review is greatly appreciated as such. Thanks again for choosing our Old Crow Cottage. Sincerely, Cort Roussel -Owner-Broker- Franconia Notch Vacations. |

Cabin was okay Karen G. from Auburn, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2016 The cabin was very clean and had been updated. We found that there was an odor most likely from a dirt basement. The odor got worse after it rained. I am not sure if a dehumidifier would help. I think more needs to be done to control mice as we did find some dropping in the kitchen. Also, need better seating for down time. Futon not comfortable to sit on and no comfortable chairs. |

A perfect escape A guest from Toronto, ON recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2016 This cottage was perfect for a 4-night retreat. The property itself was well-appointed and had everything we needed. It was comfortable and we enjoyed sitting out in the yard on a lazy day. On more adventurous days, we took advantage of nearby trails and had an awesome trek along Franconia Ridge. We even walked to the local pub one night. Overall, I would recommend this property to a friend and absolutely stay there again on a future trip to the White Mountains. |

Great little getaway Ariele S. from Dover, NH recommends this property. Stayed for 30 days in July, 2016 We loved our stay at the Old Crow Cottage. It is cute, quiet, and sufficiently rural, and close to lots of hiking opportunities. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway without too many humans close by. It's very affordable too, and the closest houses are barely visible through the trees. It was perfect! |

6 weeks in Old Crow Mark M. from Vero Beach, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 45 days in August, 2015 The small cabin was in excellent condition, had everything we needed including a washing machine/dryer. This is a perfect stay for shorter visits but, 6 weeks we missed having a comfortable couch or chair. The futon for sitting on is just not what you want for watching TV or reading. I would move it to the other side of the room for when you have a guest sleeping on the futon and add a small couch in its place. We moved the dining table into the kitchen where it should be, close to where the meals are. I would recommend this property to friends and relatives. The queen bed is very comfortable. The cabin is on a wonderful street to walk on and see wild life. The adjacent dirt roads led up to mountain views and solitude. We hiked daily on trails in the Franconia and Crawford notch area. The dutch Treat in Franconia was a nice casual place to eat with good food. Lovett's Inn and Franconia Inn had excellent fine dining experiences. Property Manager Response: Response from Franconia Notch Vacations ;), thanks to the great & valuable review Mr. M. That is All great info indeed and so glad to hear you all enjoyed your extended stay visit to The Notches of NH's White Mountains. |

old crow cottage review Doug M. from Eaton, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2014 very peaceful. loved the fire pit, but needed two more comfortable chairs as we only had two nice outside chairs. very clean with plenty of linens, towels and extra blankets (one night was cool even though it was summer). kitchen was well equipped. we will be back to stay in this beautiful, convenient location. Old Crow Cottage Greg S. from Portsmouth, NH recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in September, 2013 Extremely impressed with the cottage. It is fully stocked with all domestic needs. The only things that need to b brought are clothing, food and yourselves. Attractions, retail, and highway access are all nearby yet retains a quaint rural secluded feel. We spent five nights there and were so pleased that we reserved four more nights for the following week as we were leaving. All booking and payment was done via Email with ease. |

for the $$$ they could have installed their AC i brough my own ! James H. from Gill, MA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2013 they had an AC there but she did not say they had one. so we had to bring or own. the bed was very uncountable. it was very quite outside that was nice. kinda near the road. no fire pit & the lawn was not mowed & no TV in the bedroom, plus no cable or a bathtub. i feel i could have looked around more & got more for my money. it was okay... Property Manager Response: Response from Franconia Notch Vacations Looking at the e-mail address this one came from... perhaps we say no more and instead simply refer you to our other guests' reviews for this same property. If none else, our rating system is fair, open and un-edited accordingly. And, we are sorry that this guest was disappointed with their stay, as Mr. "Krazycatcoon420", seems to have been. |

Cute and Cozy A guest from Sudbury, Ontario recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2012 The Old Crow Cottage was ideal for my husband and I to base ourselves for our trip to New Hampshire. The property is a little out of town in a quiet location, central to all the places we wanted to visit in the White Mountains - the Flume, fall colours and the cableway up Canon Mountain. Although there is no TV signal the owners have left DVDs to watch if you are so inclined. We enjoyed our stay. |

Cozy, nicely appointed get-a-way Karen S. from West Wardsboro, Vermont recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2012 My husband and I had a great time at the Old Crow Cottage in Franconia. This little home is cozy, comfortable and quaintly decorated and has all the amenities you might need. The double bed was a bit small for two full grown people, though. Overall, we highly recommend staying at this wonderful home and hope to come back again someday. The staff at Franconia Vacation Rentals were professional and easy to work with. We appreciate the opportunity to stay in this special get-a-way. |

Our time at the old crow Deb S. from Cranston, RI recommends this property. Stayed for 185 days in November, 2010 This was our second year at the old crow in Franconia. WE love it. It suits our needs. The only negative was that this year upon arrival it was not as clean as it had been the previous year. but we made fast work remidying that. Cort from Franconia Notch Vacations did an awesome job taking care of all our needs and concerns as he always does, and we look forward to returning year after year. |

Great Rental! A guest from Nashua, NH recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2009 Everything was great, With the exception of the rotting mouse on floor. Property Manager Response: Response from Franconia Notch Vacations Oh My. We can see where your having found a dead mouse would amount to less than a perfect experience and we regret that this occured during your staying in one of our properties. The home had not been occupied in a good number of weeks, and was cleaned the day of arrival. Not sufficiently enough to avoid the issue, and so again we offer our apology. Glad to see it did not hamper your enjoyment beyond that moment and thanks again for choosing Old Crow and Franconia Notch Vacations.Sincererly,Cort RousselOwner-ManagerFranconia Notch Vacations |

John & Jill C. from Candia, NH recommends this property.
Stayed for 182 days in November, 2008 one thing to make this place better is to make it more energy efficient. insulating the cellar ceiling and wrapping water pipes and using some type of pipe heater to keep pipes from freezing. running an electric heater in the cellar 24/7 is very expensive. another recommendation would be to remove the large stump and tree which is close to the back door. the stump makes it difficult to plow and makes a very narrow passage way past the back steps. The back steps were almost hit by a car several times this past winter. Property Manager Response: Response from Franconia Notch Vacations The Stump has been removed as of Fall 2009 and we are working on insulating the basement in a more efficient manor to enable a lower cost of utiltlies come winter time. Thank you for your input Mr. Colby, and thank you for having chosen Franconia Notch Vacations and the Old Crow Cabin for your winter's enjoyment. |
