The apartment is located in what was once the kitchen of the wonderful Palazzo Barbolani di Montauto dating back to the 1400’s; it is in the heart of the bustling San Lorenzo area, just steps away from the Duomo and the wonders of historic Florence as well as the daily food market at the Mercato Centrale.

Facing onto internal courtyards the apartment is wonderfully peaceful for such a central location.

The main living area of the apartment contains the original stone sink and wood dish rack as well as a wonderfully vast stone range hood. It is furnished with a double sofa bed, TV, dining area and well-equipped kitchen.

The spacious bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and wonderful antique pieces providing plenty of storage, the two bathrooms complete the layout.

Great apartment, terribly hot bixto from los angeles, Stayed for 0 days in June, 2012 My low score is given only because of the intense heat of this apartment--much hotter than outside. The apartment is lovely, historical, and spacious. It was superbly clean with a nicely furnished kitchen and good linens. My caveat is that this apartment should not be rented to anyone during the summer, as there is insufficient air circulation and the fans help little. If they were to install a/c, I'm not sure it would cool it enough, since the walls of apartment itself do not cool down much or at all. I so looked forward to staying here, but my sojourn was ruined by the lack of attention by the agency to remedy the situation. (The solution of apartmentsflorence.it was for me to pay almost $850 more to move, lose all my money on this apartment and be uprooted while I was right in the middle of a seminar. I couldn't afford that). As a result of the heat in the apartment, I suffered heat stroke. When I left the apartment to sleep elsewhere, I fared better. So, the apt. ended up being a very large and expensive closet to keep my clothes. It was not the fault of the owner that it was a hot summer, but even on the coolest days, the apartment was too hot for an unsuspecting renter. Shouldn't be rented in summer. Choose an apartment with air conditioning. And one where the t.v. works.		Overall Satisfacation
