Not the best in Giabellina
Clive from Australia,
Stayed for 0 days in December, 2013
When told we were not being left any condiments or basic food until we managed to get to a supermarket, we were shocked. All apartments we have previously rented, (including in Giabellina), have had basics supplied, and enough to get you going until you do your first shopping. Clean and basic, not really worth the value, we should have rented the other end of Giabellina ( low numbers) where the rooms were quieter, cheaper, and more modern amenities ( we rented ther a few years ago but my enquiry came back to late).

The location was great but extremely noisy on the Friday and Saturday night in early hrs of the morning night club people very noisy and had two sleepless nights otherwise great apartment. Needs a light over the stairwells very dangerous without a light used our phone light to go up and down the stairs

Property Manager Response:

We are very pleased to see your nice review about our apartment at via Ghibellina. This renovated third floor accommodation is located in the heart of Florence where you can find everything restaurants, supermarkets and unfortunately for someone, night clubs but all these are part of the city center. The apartments is opposite the house of Michelangelo and only short distances from Piazza Santa Croce and Sant’Ambrogio’s daily farmers market.
We sincerely hope that the next time you are in Florence you will allow us to help make your stay as comfortable as possible using our concierge service to help you with any tours, tickets and information that you may need. Please visit our Facebook page for updates on events taking place in Tuscany and new apartments!

Grazie,

Better than our high expectations

We where two couples staying in this apartment for a week. It was terrific. Very clear instruction what to do when arriving in Florence. Our check in assistant, Jean-Marc?, was waiting for us when we arrived and gave us all useful information and also answered our various questions in a very good way. The location is perfect. Walking distance to everything, ~20 minutes walk to the railway station at the other end of city. We did not spend so much time in the apartment mainly nights and the apartment was exactly as described and shown on the pictures. Street noise at late evenings and nights disturbed the first night but ear plugs solved that. We were having breakfast in the apartment and there is a large grocery store, Conad, at Via Pietrapiana 42 only 200 meters from the apartment. Our check out guide, Ceasar?, was also very helpful and helped us to book a taxi for the departure since we where leaving very early on a Sunday morning. The next time I visit Florence I'll try to boo the same apartment if it's idle.

Great location but apartment a little tired
DCB from Auckland,

The location is great and so easy to get around. The open-top bus stops on the next corner and Santa Croce is a block away. Little store where you ca buy alcoholic drinks across the road and the supermarket 2 minute walk. The apartment is up 60 stairs so carrying luggage is tough and it was also very hot whilst we were in Florence so became something we didn't particularly look forward to at the end of the day!! And we are not lazy by any means. Our greeter was fantastic (Ceasar?) and very kindly carried one bag up on his head! Impressive. The apartment is very spacious and although the lounge area layout is a little odd, it is light enough and you have a little view at the end of the room. The sofa was very tired with only a sheet covering the exposed foam - get the owners to tidy this up as it was really rather unpleasant. This is the only sofa by the way. Shower is great and the bathroom overall works well. Heated towel rail is on a timer but we were able to get towels dry. We weren't given one set of towels so did wash them however it was a challenge to get them dry without a dryer. There is a drying rack and the kitchen seemed a good area to leave it. The kitchen is great and we cooked in twice and good sized fridge/freezer. Only one air-conditioning remote was working (there are 3) so that was just a little issue but still annoying. The other issue we had was that the power kept going off and on two occasions we also had no hot water. We were told the may happen on checkin if too many appliances were on, and to just flick the master switch back in, which we did and it worked again. It was annoying when we by had the washing machine on. Overall the apartment is good and would only need a kick of paint to tart it up again.

A fabulous stay in Florence
NSMOz from Perth - WA,

Our stay was wonderful, the apartment was exactly as advertised. The location was perfect, walking distance to everything. The apartment provided our family everything we needed. Check In service was easy and our check in assistant was very helpful, even carried one of our cases up the 6 flights of stairs to the 3rd floor! There were plenty of amenities close by. The best feature of the apartment was the facilities we had everything we needed, probably the worst feature was on street noise at times.

a cosy atmosphere inside a "stirring" florentine historical pala

Great welcome. The apartment is located on the top floor of an ancient palace. The palace itself, dates back to 16th century and belonged to the local executioner. Confortable and bright, the apartment it's perfect for a romantic experience right in the middle of the city center and only one step away from whatever else you might need to have a great time in Florence.

Elegant, modern, clean and spacious
Academic from San Diego,

Ghibellina 69, an elegant old palazzo converted into apartments, is located across the street from Casa Buonarorroti and one block north of Santa Croce. The management company, Apartments Florence, does an excellent job maintaining and supervising the property, communicating effectively with renters, and providing concierge services. I come to Florence for a month every year and will rent from them again. The apartment, located on the 4th floor (us), has a beautiful view of Fiesole and the surrounding hills. It was spotlessly clean with modern appliances (washing machine, dishwasher, etc), toilet and shower. Fast WiFi. The only downside is noise on weekend nights from groups of Italian young men heading home from the bars/nightclubs near Santa Croce (singing, fighting, talking). But noise is an endemic problem in the city center. Overall, it was a lovely and very restful apartment that I highly recommend.

A great place to stay in Florence
Laporte Foggman from LaPorte, Colorado,
Stayed for 0 days in October, 2012
Our stay at at Ghibellina was great. Check-in was easy and when we discovered that we didn't have a coffee maker, the team delivered one the next day. Also the heat wasn't on when we arrived (transition season with the first few cold days coincided with our visit) and they sent someone to fire up the heating system the following day. The location is great! It is easy to walk anywhere in the touristic center of Florence in a matter of minutes. Yet it is enough out of the way to still feel like you are living in an Italian area of Florence. The kitchen is great with lots of space. The bedrooms are light and airy. Be aware that the sofa-bed, while serviceable is not nearly as nice as the proper beds. There is some street noise, but it rarely disturbed us. However, in the summer, when it may be necessary to keep the windows open for cooling, light sleepers may be awakened by a zipping moped, trash trucks, etc.

Great time with the family in Florence
Fabio Ramos from São Paulo,

We stayed in this 2 bedroom apartment for a little over a week and simply loved everything about it. We would be walking downtown or spending time in some other city in Tuscany most of the day, but while we were at the apartment it felt like being home. It was our first experience in Europe staying in an apartment and we believe was the smartest choice (the best cost benefit choice, for sure). For our purposes and way of travelling it was much better than staying in a hotel. And the agency staff was really helpful with everything we needed during our staying, as well as during the booking process. Just great! We loved everything about this experience with apartments Florence and highly recommend it to friends and future customers.
