Sophisticated & charming!

Entering this delightful & charming apartment was the perfect start to our 3 night stay in Florence. Our flight was delayed so we had to contact the team to amend arrival time, which was no problem.Francesco arranged to meet us and was very welcoming. The outlook over the courtyard garden was an added treat. The apartment is perfectly located - the river literally just found the corner, restaurants and the fabulous gelateria steps away. A perfect experience from start to finish!

Very much enjoyed the apartment for 7 days for its ambience and location. Even in 36 degree celsius heat rarely used air-con because of ceiling fan. Kitchen could use a toaster and electric kettle otherwise ok . Check in and check out friendly and efficient as was pre-arrival contact by email.

We spent 3 amazing weeks in Florence staying at Via Malenchini apartment. The location is just perfect! And the flat itself is great: spacious, clean, quiet, comfortable, beautiful and quite cool in hot Florentine summer (even without turning on an aircon, although there are more than enough heating-cooling devices: a fan, 2 aircons and central heating system). There were some minor imperfections though, such as the Internet (it isn't always fast) and sometimes you can here the noise from the road (but it's really 'sometimes', I mean it doesn't disturb you much, beleive me as I'm very sensitive to the noise :) ). On the whole we really loved being at this apartment and felt very much at home there. Staying there, we were immersed into the beauty of that magnificent city and now I recall those 3 weeks with a warm smile... And at last but not least - the apartmets Florence team is really great! We met personally only Cesare but we'd like to say big-big thank you to everybody!

I had a magnificent stay in Florence this summer. I spent 3 weeks in the flat that was perfectly located : in the center, close to everything, and in a quiet street. The flat is spacious and the view on the garden is lovely! The flat has everything you need : Wifi, washing-machine, TV,microwave iron, hair-dryer... and everything you need to cook!It was a very lovely stay in a beautiful city.

Rented Via Malenchini apartment in July 2011 for the weekend. It is a clean, spacious 1 bedroom with full kitchen with amenities, small shower, well designed and with a nice view of a private garden. Very central location - a street parallel to the river, 2 min walk to either Piazza del Duomo or across the river to San Niccolo etc. The host was courteous, always on time and helpful. Would stay again next time we are in Firenze.

Property Manager Response:
It was a pleasure to have you with us. We are waiting for you again. Next year or sooner. Grazie!

Everything was good about this place except that it had not had a real cleaning in a long time. You could not walk on the floor without shoes. Dust in areas that are above eye level was piled high. But the location and the garden made up for everything.

great Location, Clean and spacious
Jim and Donna from Ontario, Canada,

We really enjoyed our stay here and certainly would stay here again. My only complaint is that it is advertised as a 1 bedroom and it is a studio apt. and should be advertised as such. In North america, a one bedroom is a seperate room from the rest of the apt. Also it is advertised as being on the first floor and it is the first apt. but you still have to climb 2 flights of stairs, for someone thinking they are on the main floor, this is misleading.

Property Manager Response:
Hi Jim & Donna,

Thanks for staying with us and for your feedback! The apartment is located on the first floor, which in Europe means one floor up. Apartments listed as "ground floor" are on street level with no stairs. The apartment is considered a one bedroom because it has a separate kitchen and bathroom. We consider studios to be everything contained within one single room - kitchen, bed, living space, etc. We see your points and appreciate your feedback. Thank you for staying with us and please do come back to see us again! - Lorenzo

Neglected beauty
XAP from Travelling Aussies,
Stayed for 0 days in March, 2011
I wish I could give this place a good review – it seemed so promising. We booked way in advance on the strength of our contact with the company (Christine, Lorenzo et al.), the pictures of the apartment, and the trip advisor FlipKey reviews. Our initial contact was positive and professional so we had really high hopes for our stay. Unfortunately, while there were some positives, the overall standard of the accommodation was not what we thought it would be. There were a few really nice things: - The room was graceful and charming, furnished with eclectic and rustic pieces and was very large and full of natural light - There was a beautiful view out onto a palazzo garden (which is private and cannot be entered by guests) - Good air-conditioning - Good position near the Ufizzi and the river, near transport but also relatively quiet. Overall though, the goods were outweighed for us by the negatives: - On arrival at the apartment, we were met by a friendly rep who started our intro by showing us a tiny dark fuse room at the base of the stairs with a warning that the power may cut out from time to time and, if it did, this would be one of 3 places to check switches to put the power back on. Ah... Ok... this didn’t make us feel very confident. There were quite a few things to remember about which switches to leave on to make sure we had hot water etc. It was kind of complicated - The oven – which was the size of a small microwave (incidentally, there is no microwave) – had a faulty timer, the gas cook top was faulty (broken auto-ignition switch); the bathroom door did not lock (it was splintered and appeared to have been forced at some stage). These may sound like small things but in combination they made us feel uncomfortable and worried about using appliances. On top of the rest, the chairs in the kitchen were too rickety to use. - By far the worst thing was the overall lack of cleanliness. The bathroom was really quite grubby - it had been sprinkled liberally with bleach (which you could smell) but it hadn’t been cleaned. We didn’t want to stand in the shower. The floors in the kitchen and bedroom were dirty and dusty. Some plates had food residue on them when we got them out – we ended up not cooking much at all as it was too manky. There was a weird pillow without a cover, and with long strands of someone else’s hair, on one of the chairs – it made us feel yuck. Yes; the room is charming and the aspect beautiful but clean is important – we didn’t expect to be able to eat off the floors but it would have been nice to feel we could stand on them! - We got one set of towels (1x large, medium, small) each for our 6 days and we were told not to wash them (even though there was a washing machine) as they tend to get ruined if washed by guests. We weren’t too fussed by this but 6 days is probably stretching it a bit with the same towels and not being allowed to launder them. - The double bed (which is two singles pushed together) was large but really uncomfortable as were the pillows. Neither of us slept properly for the whole of our stay. - The hair-dryer was a tiny travel dryer which was basically useless for our long hair. - The two half-rolls of toilet paper and the miscellaneous bottles in the kitchen cupboards all seemed to be left over by previous residents. At “check out” we were met by a very nice and helpful american woman who returned our deposit and tried calling us a cab (there were no cabs to be had due to a charity race). While the contacts with the company were fine etc., we really we felt there was a lack of attention to basic cleanliness and functional details and an overall “stinginess” with providing stuff. Neither of us are over-fussy “five star” travellers but when you live somewhere for a week or so, you want to feel at home and we really didn’t. We checked out some well-rated B&Bs; which we felt represented much better value.

Property Manager Response:
We appreciate your comments and suggestion. We continuously have great reviews with this apartment and very rarely had any major issues or left guests feeling unsatisfactory. It is most definitely in a fantastic location and is a very charming retreat for people visiting Florence. The apartment is privately owned and the things in it including appliances are of good quality and very functional. In these older, historic buildings in Florence you do have to be aware of blowing fuses by having too many appliances running at once and we only wanted to show you what to do in case that did happen, not to scare you away from using the things in the home. We do apologize if that was mis-communicated and caused you to worry during your stay. As far as the cleanliness of the apartment, as all of the apartments we manage are, it is thoroughly cleaned prior to every arrival by a team of two people. We will definitely review our procedures to ensure that we always keep a very high standard of cleanliness for all of our guests. We thank you for your stay with us and for your comments on how to improve the experience for our future guests!

This apartment cannot be beat for one of the best locations in Florence. Close to the main attractions as well as the fun Santa Croce neighborhood, it was the perfect place for a four month stay in Florence. Apartments Florence staff was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our apartment and we'd stay there again.

This location was great. Very quiet little street, but right around the corner from the best neighborhood for restaurants favored by the locals, with the river a block away and still 5-10 minute walk to everything in the city center. We shopped around and did a lot of research for value on hotels, b&b;'s and all sorts of apartments, and this was a great deal. Like any hotel or apartment in big European cities, it is old and funky but still great. This particular apartment was big by those standards, with a nice little view of the courtyard.

this apartment was ideally located for long stays aimed at visiting the museums/galleries in Florence and as a home base for day tripping in Tuscany by train or bus. The location is sheltered from the noisy street life and almost all of the essential services, shops and eateries are within a block. The apartment was spacious; allowed for cooking and washing; and security was not an issue. The view from the main windows was excellent. The staff were very helpful and responsive. For someone looking for value and economy this is hard to beat. The only warning for those that are used to posh accomodation is that the apartment can get dirty/dusty and the furniture (ie bed/linen) and decor (paint, shower, cupboards) are tired and could use a touch up. We stayed for 2 months therefore value/economy and the surrounding community were priorities. We developed an attachment to the area and would return.

I stayed at Malenchini for 5 days this past November. The apartment was an amazing 1 bedroom. Had plenty of room for you , or you and guests. It is walking distance to the Uffizi Gallery, the Duomo, and the many Piazzas throughout this beautiful city. The hospitality of the people that work at Apartments Florence was fantastic. Between the beautiful sights, amazing people, and a very nice place to end some of the best days, i would stay here again and again. I cannot wait to make it back to the beautiful city of Florence, and without hesitation will be calling upon Apartments Florence to make my stay as memorable as the last!

This was the first apartment I moved into when I came to Florence, and immediately fell in love. It took me months to decide and confirm with Lorenzo & Nicco, but they were all so patient with me. They made an extra effort to give me the best customer service while deciding on where to live in Florence. The apartments interior is very comfortable, has original arched ceilings, comfy bed (and pull out sofa), and small but perfect kitchen. The charm of this apartment, and the beautiful courtyard of the adjoining Palazzo was a nice touch. As a single American woman, I felt very safe here and in the entire Santa Croce neighborhood. Everything is so close to walk too! including all the markets, shops and cafes. I would buy this apartment if I could, and never wanted to leave it! Thank you to Lorenzo & Nicco for all of their help during my stay in Florence, I am looking forward to renting with them again. Cheers!

I stayed in this one bedroom apt. for a week and I must say it was wonderful. The location is perfect as it is just a couple blocks from all the action at Piazza Signoria and the Ponte Vecchio. It is also very close to Santa Croce and an easy walk across the Arno to Santo Spirito. Plus, the apt. is so comfortable with an updated kitchen, a large comfortable bedroom and sitting area, along with a terrific view of a beautiful courtyard. The architecture is truly amazing. The nice thing about staying in an apt. is the ability to stop by the markets and pick up the wonderful Italian selections that you can make for meals. There also are some wonderful restaurants nearby for those nights when you don't want to make your own dinner. Now that I have enjoyed the comforts of apt. rentals, I will always use Apartments Florence because the staff of Lorenzo, Nicco, and Christine were wonderful.
