A beautiful, rustic log exterior? a big deck for enjoying the mountain views and the gentle mountain breezes?. a hot tub to soothe your aching muscles and the tension of the past year?s work? a well-equipped and attractive kitchen to prepare a tasty meal? a grill to give your main dish that outdoor flavor... a spacious deck from which to enjoy the sun setting over the mountains?a flat screen TV to relax around after dinner with popcorn and your favorite beverage? a game room with Foosball and a Ping Pong table just in case you get tired of watching TV? and, of course, a king-size bed for a restful night?s sleep. Believe it or not, you can turn that dream into a reality in our ?sweet? mountain cabin which we have appropriately named, Cabin Sweet Cabin. Cabin Sweet Cabin features:? 3 bedrooms (plus a loft) and 2.5 bathrooms? King-size bed in master bedroom,? Large deck with o A hot tub, o A gas grill,o A high-top table with seating for fouro chaise lounges and end tables,? 3 TVs, including a 32 inch flat screen TV? Game room with Foosball, Ping Pong table, and a 35 inch TV,? DVDs, Videos, Games, Books, and a toy box filled with toys,? Fully-equipped kitchen with flat-panel electric stove, full-size dishwasher, microwave, and all the other amenities of home,? Wood-burning fireplace,? 1 king, 1 full, & 2 twin beds, plus a queen sleeper sofa and a fold-out futon (sleeps up to 10 people);? A wall of windows so you can enjoy sunsets and the mountainview from almost anywhere in the cabin!The cabin is located in a peaceful mountain community, characterized by narrow, winding, tree-lined roads and awesome mountain views. At the foot of the mountain is the scenic and pastoral New River and access to its many popular pastimes, including fishing, tubing, swimming, and kayaking. The top of the mountain, at an elevation of 3500 feet above sea level, is where Cabin Sweet Cabin is located. If your intent is to escape the summer heat, at the Cabin Sweet Cabin?s elevation it is typically at least 10 degrees cooler than it is at lower elevations in North Carolina?plus, there is almost always a gentle summer breeze. If its winter and you want to see snow?it snows more and stays longer at the cabin elevation?s cooler temperatures than it does at lower elevations. The cabin is located about halfway between the vibrant college mountain town of Boone and West Jefferson, a small town where traditional mountain life and a flourishing artists? community can be simultaneously experienced. Attractions near the cabin include the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, Mount Jefferson State Park, New River State Park, Blowing Rock, and?of course, the Tweetsie Railroad! Start the day hiking the Cascade Falls Trail on the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway (or hike to Fleetwood Falls?the trail starts at the bottom of the mountain!). After your hike, go for a drive along the Parkway, enjoying the many scenic vistas that characterize America?s most beautiful road. Continue on to Blowing Rock and shop at the many unique shops in this quaint mountain town. Next on the agenda, journey to Grandfather Mountain and a harrowing?but awe-inspiring--walk on the Swinging Bridge and a visit to the natural animal habitat. If there?s time still left in the day (if not, there?s always tomorrow!) visit Thomas the Tank Engine at Tweetsie Railroad or go kayaking or tubing on the New River or bicycling on the flat, scenic road that runs next to it. If by now your feet are tired, head on back to Cabin Sweet Cabin for some soothing relaxation in the hot tub! Although there?s much to do in the area, don?t forget to save time for simply savoring the peace and beauty of the mountains and of our mountain home. When we bought Cabin Sweet Cabin we hoped it would become a place where couples and families could escape the hectic nature of daily life and reconnect with each other. Tastefully decorated with all the amenities. There was one small exception. The sleeper sofa had used sheets and a dirty blanket--looked like crusty tomato sauce stain. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2013 Need larger tvs and hot tub was disgusting it needed to be cleaned Property Manager Response: Response from Ashe High Country Vacations LLC Hot Tubs are cleaned before each visit. We ask that if anything is not to your satisfaction upon arrival to please let us know immediately so we can resolve any issues. Nothing was reported in regards to the hot tub until this review and I spoke to the renters a couple of times during their stay. After further coorespondence with the renter they felt the water was a little murkey but would not hesitate to stay here again. Great cabin, but does not accomodate 10 people. A guest from hurdle mills, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2013 Nicely decorated cabin with great view. Hot tube was a nice amenity. Website stated that cabin accomodated 10; however, there were not enough dishes (bowls, plates, etc)and really not enough beds for 10 people. The sleeeper sofa is in the game room and is very uncomfortable. Game room is in basement and you have to go through the cold garage to get to it (secluded from the rest of the house).
