The only bad thing about it was the location. Being located next to the cabana made for a very crowded beach which we are not use to. Overall it was a very good week vacation. The size and arrangement of bedrooms and large living area are perfect for our family. We would greatly appreciate a NEW charcoal grill for next year! We grill out alot and it was less than adequate and rusting out. A "high end" home like Jungle Fever should provide us with a good grill. The convenience of having the ocean just outside our door was a most appreciated, especially with the younger ones who could quickly go in to use the bathroom or get a quick bite to eat. We loved to open the shutters of the windows on the north side of our bedroom and watch the sunrise. The kitchen, dining and living room areas were most spacious.My nephew and his wife came out from California. They were most impressed, "This place(the beach)isn't crowded." Stayed for 7 days in July, 2011 we had many problems with this house: first, the airconditioning on the upper level (which had five bedrooms) broke and was not fixed properly. the staff mentioned that the office knew that the AC was broken, but had not fixed it properly. The office offered me another smaller house, which was not adequate because it was very far away and 1/2 of our family group would have been inaccessible. We think if was "false advertising" to say the house had AC when, in fact, it was broken. We asked for a partial refund, and were given only $150 back on a house that cost us $7400 for one week. Great place for a family gathering A guest from Edmond, OK recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in November, 2010 We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Edisto Beach in Jungle Fever. The home was perfect for our family: we loved cooking together, sitting on the deck, & found the bedrooms to be spacious & comfortable. A couple of problems existed, however, that detracted from our satisfaction: 1. The dishwasher quit working on Thanksgiving morning. Ugh! So many dishes to wash & dry on Thursday & Friday. 2. Many light bulbs were burned out. These were replaced after we reported them - thought they should have been checked & fixed before our arrival. 3. One of the jacuzzi tubs emitted dark particles from the jets - horrified my very pregnant daughter-in-law! This was checked when we reported it but could not be fixed. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2010 Unit was clean but had minor maintainince issues.1) refrigerator did not seem to keep refrigerator side cool. Adjusted up the frezor temp to allow refrigerator to stay cooler.2) Noticed one broken sugar spoon in sugar dish. Left this on counter so cleaning team would see it.3) Toilet paper holder in first floor bath was loose from wall.4) lots of spider webs and bugs in exit hallway leading to carport under building.These were minor issues and only listed so they can be repaired. There were some issues that we brought to the attention of the rental agency and they were addressed in a somewhat timely manner. The downstairs outside refrigerator was a great idea and was convenient. For the most part the house was stocked to accomodate 14 people...not sure who is supposed to check on a wine opener or cooking utinsils, but those items were lacking...Our overall impression is that we would definitely go back and definitely recommend the house. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2010 The house was great and we had a wonderful time but there were a few early season things that could have been fixed before we arrived to make our stay one of the best.We were told that there was a TV in every bedroom. There were in most but not all. The cable had been disconnected and we didn't have any cable from Sunday until late Wednesday. This was a bummer for our four girls. The hot water heater did not keep up with our family. After two showers the water would turn cold. I called this in but we did not get any response. There are two hot water heaters in the house but I don't think that both were working.The smoke detectors needed to have their batteries replaced. Atwood replaced one after I called about them going off during the day. Two nights later they all went off at 2:30 a.m. Atwood did replace them the next day. Other than a couple of roudy neighbors the stay was great. Atwood did a good job of trying to fix the problems other than the hot water heater that was called in to their maintainence department. I loved the house and I love Edisto. I just attribute these things as early season problems that need to be looked at closer. I would highly recommend this house to anyone who is looking for an upscale beach house that has the comforts of home considering that all of the little problems have been fixed.
