Stayed for 3 days in September, 2011 Great living room furniture, TV's in bedrooms, fantastic view. But, beds were not comfortable, a broken curtain rod in 1 bedroom and the kitchen needs more silverware and a better frig. Website indicated internet access but there was no password available, even when contacting the agency. Great Location - MOLDY Condo in Disrepair! Daniel B. from Chapin, SC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 9 days in September, 2010 Great location near Edisto Marina! However, our experience goes downhill from there. Condo in disrepair. Both bathrooms had mold on walls and holes in wall above/around shower heads. Towel bars BARELY attached to walls. Closet doors off their hinges - more like swinging "saloon style" doors! Ceiling panels in kitchen sag to the point you can't open cupboards without pushing ceiling panels UP. My 5'1" wife was unable to reach the ceiling panels herself. Wireless internet (an advertised feature) router was broken. Lock mechanism on BOTH sliding patio doors missing (axe handles in the slider tracks served as "locks"). Window seals broken and resulting moisture/fog in windows obstructed an otherwise beautiful view of the marsh and river. I called Atwood Vacation office the first two days of our vacation to report problems. They did not get back to us for THREE DAYS (said they were busy over Labor Day weekend). Atwood was aware my wife had an outpatient surgical procedure Wednesday of our stay. They sent a repairman to replace the internet router the afternoon of her surgery - while she was recovering. How RUDE! Atwood offered to move us to another unit - for $150 MORE per night. Said BOTH property owners needed to be compensated for the use of their respective properties. I asked to speak to Atwood owner (Mark). The girls in the office left a message for him. Nearly a MONTH has passed and I have never received a call from Mark. Vacation at Edisto Carol S. from Hemdersonville, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2010 We had a few minor problems. The sheets did not fit the beds on the first night and made for a terrible nights sleep but we called twice and someone dropped off ones that fit and the second night was better. No property manager was present at the villa. Atwood failed to provide me with an access code to the property resulting in a not Ted K. from Camden, SC recommends this property. clean but needs an update A guest from Ashville, NC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2010 The Atwood property manager forgot to leave the key in the late pick up box so my 46 yr old husband and I slept half the night in the car in a parking lot. Finally the local police tracked down the manager who delivered the key to us in the car at 2am. That's romantic when you are 18 but maddening when you are older. The property was clean but the living room set up was a little funny. There were stains in the ceiling and some crumbling around the shower heads that needed to be finished off. The decor and the kitchen looked like it hadn't been updated since the seventies. The bed was comfortable. We did watch a nice sunset from the balcony. The attached restaurant had very mediocre food. If you are looking for a place to lay your head and get a shower while exploring the island, this place will do. We loved exploring Edisto and we had a great, relaxing time together but next time we will stay in a tent at the state park. A GREAT TIME AT A VERY BEAUTIFUL PLACE Jerome F. from Fort Mill, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in April, 2010 We just love Edisto Island and staying at the Bay Creek Villa helped to get the most out of our time there. Also, the elevator was a big plus as far as my wife being able to come and go as she wished. I made a lot of very cool friends just hanging out around the Mariner and having a cool beer. Condo was dated and had a musty smell which followed us home to PA. Thermal panes on the sliders to the patio were cloudy so a A guest from Lansdale, PA does not recommend this property. Actually, we stayed in 308 Bay Creek Villa Amelia L. from Elgin, SC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2009 Family of 5 looking for a last minute Thanksgiving get away. Asked for place with elbow room so kids could do homework and required internet access. 308 Bay Creek has no elbow room, tiles were missing from kitchen ceiling. My holiday check in package was not in the drop box when we arrived and we had to call for key. I was not told to bring own toilet paper or soap. We left 1 day early due to condo being too small for us. Property Manager Response: Response from Atwood Vacations We are very sorry that you were dissappointed in the Bay Creek Villa. We will certainly will address your concerns with the owner. We also apologize if you felt the villa was not what you were expecting and for the error with the rental keys. We are human and sometimes we make mistakes but we are on-call 24/7 for occurances such as this and will rectify any situation as soon as we possibly can. We for the most part have great reviews about Bay Creek and the size of them has never come up to us before so we will be mindful of that in the future.
