5130 ONE BEDROOM UNIT: The Residencias Reef Condominiums on Cozumel are located right on San Francisco Beach, the most beautiful beach on Cozumel.
Just a 5 minute boat ride to some of the greatest reefs, it's perfect for beachcombers. There's also good snorkeling just off the beach. And that beach stretches on for miles and miles so you can run or jog for as long and as far as you like.
All the Residencias Reef condos have central air conditioning, maid service, and access to a large freshwater infinity edge pool.
The condos are located about 9 miles south of Cozumel's only town, San Miguel.
This unit is up one flight of stairs and down another. Once inside you are located on BEACH level.
This unit has a private patio and easy access to the beach.
No deadline pressures here in Residencias Reef 5130. No phone to ring. No computer telling me an unexpected error has occurred. (No Internet) Nothing unexpected here except a great big beautiful sunset.

It is so peaceful and the groundsmen, do such an awesome job to keep property, clean and safe. Our washer was out, but our housekeeper was a doll and washed our clothing for us. We did not mind the oven, not working, since a toaster oven was furnished. We wished they could have stopped the blinking light on stove though. The furnishing were good, the white couch was intimidating, made us a littl afraid to even sit on it and we didn't even have kids with us. The other chair and couch were comfortable. It was very strange to have satellite box to living TV in bedroom, but doable. The biggest problem we had was not having internet service available. We would recommend this place as an awesome place to stay, with a few little tweaks of upgrades. Two foldout couches in living room. 6 bar stools, a couch and chair in bedroom(chair instead of end table) dresser with only 3 small drawers, cabinet below that full of old electronics and broken stuff. Bathroom lacked storage due to a basketfull of mini-soaps, drawer full of other people's used deoderant, sunscreen, and personal hygiene items. Dishwasher that has had part coming from Mexico city for over a year.(not that I would use it) Take it out and make storage for trash can instead of it sitting in front of refrigerator door. No phone or internet. Would I recommend to a friend or stay again. Yes, only because of location right on the beach and AC worked good. We had the beach just opening the back door, a nice pool, a super handy kitchen, everything to feel at home but in such a beautiful place. TV didn't work because of the rain and cd player was broken, so while it rained it was a bit boring inside, but the cleaning lady was very nice to report it and make us feel welcome. The king size bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was plenty big for the 2 of us, the kitchen was very nice with fresh bottled water, dishes, cups, and pots and pans supplied. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous and very well maintained. The pool area was very clean and the chairs were very comfy too. When you step off the back porch of the condo you are less than a minute from the beach and the pool area. It was very quiet and peaceful and felt very safe with plenty of outside lighting at night. Which reminds me, the view of the sunset is incredible! If I had to complain about anything it would be that there are no restaurants within walking distance after around 5pm and that there are a lot of rocks to walk over to get into the ocean in front of the condo, but if you don't care to walk a little to the right or left you can easily find a sandy entrance and some great snorkelling! 'Dive Palancar' is the name of the place we went through to go scuba diving (nicest bunch of guys you will ever meet) and it too was less then a minute from the condo. We loved it so much that we are already planning to rent this same condo again next year. Oh, a little warning, if you rent a car in Cozumel... The car rental place will automatically hold 686.00 or more of your funds on your debit/credit card ( unless you're willing to pay, I think it was 112.00 a day for full coverage insurance). We were never told to expect this when we rented the car. We also talked to other couples that had this happened to them too, and they rented from different rental companies, so just be prepared to have at least 686.00 of your funds unavailable until you return the car. Good news is, when we returned the car the 686.00 charge came off and the regular price of the rental was all that was deducted from our account. Unit FALSELY ADVERTISED A guest from Sherwood, WI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2011 Unit 5130 advertises it has a washer AND DRYER in its amenities. It doesn't. There is a washing machine but no dryer. We rented the unit primarily for the washing machine and dryer and packed light because of that. Come to find out when we got there that there was no dryer. Javier was quite rude about it and said "this unit doesn't come with a dryer, the website didn't list it". I just double checked and sure enough, a dryer is listed. Highly disappointed. The unit does not come with beach towels either. The dishwasher is also not working as well as the AC in the living room. Do not rent this unit if you don't have to. Safe, quiet and relaxing away from the hustle bustle of San Miguel, but close enough to go into town for dinner. The dive boat picked us up at the pier adjacent to the property. 5130 at Res. Reef Sean M. from Frisco, CO does not recommend this property. Stayed for 14 days in March, 2009 We intend to write to At Home in Cozumel with detailed issues or I welcome a phone call, but I will outline the problems here. The location was great, the staff was ok, and the unit needs serious work. We told Javier about a couple of the problems right away and noticed many more over the course of our stay. Javier told me he would have service people address the problems and we never saw him or heard from him again. Nor did anyone come to fix any problems. The price we paid for the unit included a dishwasher which didn't work, one air conditioner worked sometimes and sounded like a lawnmower, the furniture was in poor condition, many electrical problems (breaker that constantly has to be reset, lights that don't work, outlets that don't work, not one clock in the unit works and there are several), the kitchen was poorly stocked (we had to wash dishes twice a day in the sink), The kitchen sink leaked so there was a bucket full of water under to catch the water. The unit is small which is ok, but it was not ok that it is full of junk, broken unusable furniture, too much furniture, filthy furniture, several dvd players that aren't even in use, junk stored in the corner of the bedroom, a ladder stored in the only available closet. The dryer is missing the lint trap and vents into the room. There aren't screens on any windows or doors. The website says this unit doesn't have an oven, the fact is there is an oven, it just doesn't work. We spent time with some of the neighbors and saw inside 5120 and 5140. They were very nice and the renters said everything worked. What is the deal with 5130? We will consider staying at Res. Reef again if we are somehow compensated for the headaches we endured, but we would not stay in that unit again unless all of the problems have been taken care of. Property Manager Response: Response from At Home In Cozumel Inc We are very sorry that you were not pleased with your stay at the Residencias Reef #5130. The other recent review of the unit gave it the highest score possible so it was quite a shock that you saw things so differently. In response to your complaints. I can assure you that our service people were sent to investigate. Our staff went to check on the electrical outlets and found them working. They also checked the leak under the sink but that seemed to have stopped leaking as well. The air conditioner was cooling properly but I was informed that it does make noise for the first ½ hour or so of turning it on. It seems as though it does have a vibration that ceases after it runs a while. It will eventually need a new fan motor and the owner is holding off as long as it is still working ok.The kitchen amenities on the web site specifically say no oven in the unit. The dishwasher is also not advertised on the web site. This is because the dishwashers were installed when the units were built but they have 2 major issues, one is the water pressure is not strong enough to actually clean the dishes and the other is that dishwasher soap is not sold on the island and it has to be gotten on the mainland.. We don?t advertise this amenity for any unit forboth these reasons The units at Residencias reef are all individually owned. The furnishings in all of the units are up to the individual owners.. Each unit has photos on the web site of the furnishings in their particular unit as well as amenity lists for the particular unit. I am sorry you didn?t like the furniture in your particular unit, but the owner likes it and does not plan to refurnish. We are truly sorry you were unhappy, but the owner has his unit correctly advertised so we cannot ask him to offer any discount for your stay. Your business is very important to us so At Home in Cozumel we would like to offer you a 10% discount on your next stay at the Residencias Reef to try one of the other units. Unlike some of the nearby all-inclusive resorts, Residencias Reefs was serene and relaxing, though I can't vouch for what it's like during spring break. Two important issues: 1)There are no stores or restaurants nearby. If you want to go into town with any frequency you may want to rent a car. Cab fare for 2 round trip is about $30. 2) The beach right in front of the complex is rocky, so if you want to swim you have to walk at least 10-15 minutes toward San Francisco Beach Club.
