Resort: Small, quiet village, in the western part of the island 500 m from the lake, situated at the foot Mount Gable, in the countryside with beautiful view, 17 km south-west from Ballinrobe, 47 km north-west from Galway. In the resort: grocers, post office, restaurant, bar. Ballykine Castle 3 km. Ashford Castle 5 km. For arrivals by plane: airport Carnmore Galway (GWY) 51 km, Knock (NOC) 55 km, Dublin (DUB) 268 km. Located between 2 large lakes, Lough Mask and Lough Corrib. It is very famous for its fishing as well as its position in what is known as "Joyce Country". The surrounding countryside is varied, with mountains around the lakes and the coast not too far away.
