A Walk in the Woods invites you to do just enjoy the scenery on Cherry Log Mountain and along the Benton McKaye Trail that flows throughout the mountain. This vacation log cabin has a very popular floor plan with everything on one level and 2 queen bedrooms, each with their own private bath, separated by a large, comfortable living area, kitchen and dining area. The living area features a wood-burning fireplace, cable TV, CD player, DVD and a great assortment of movies and board games. The dining area has seating for 4 people and the kitchen has stainless appliances along with everything you need to create a gourmet meal. When you are ready to relax after a long day of hiking, head out to the private back porch and soak your cares away in the hot tub or break out some steaks and cook them up on the gas grill. The rockers are inviting you to sit down and be on the lookout for all of the various wildlife that travels through there. Come enjoy the comfort of rustic elegance and take A Walk in the Woods. The cabin was comfortable and when the back yard is the side of a mountain, what else do you need?? The fireplace was beautiful and kept us cozy and warm. Disappointed A guest from Roswell, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2011 This is our fourth year renting a cabin with Mountain Paws, so maybe we were spoiled by the immaculate condition of the other properties, but this one fell short. The sofa was really a loveseat for two people and needed to be replaced due to age (the cushions completely sunk when you sat on it and had small stains all over it). The coffee table was so rickety that we were afraid it would fall apart if we bumped into it or put anything on top of it. There were no extra trash bags in the cabin, so once we filled up the small kitchen trash can we had to use extra grocery bags that we had on hand. Speaking of trash, the cans on the back porch were left full from the previous occupants, so there was little to no room for us to throw away our trash. There were a few salt and pepper shakers in the kitchen, but they had neither salt nor pepper in them. The pots and pans were very scratched up and flakes of the non-stick coating came off when cooking our food. The power went out for a few hours on our second evening, so we were happy to find a few flashlights in the cabin ... with dead batteries in them. In general, the den was not big enough for four people and a dog to comfortably sit and should have been rated as a 2-3 person cabin. It needs an upgrade to kitchen pots, utensils, furniture, and a little more attention paid when getting ready for a group checking in (removing trash and restocking). For our last few visits we have stayed at Walk In The Woods and this cabin fits us great. Property management is second to none and we will use them when we build our cabin next year. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2011 The lady I worked with at the property management company (Anna) was nice but very scattered. She claimed to have not received my initial email inquiry. Then when I called, she insisted on taking my credit card info by phone, when everyone, including this company uses a credit card authorization form. She then emailed the cc authorization and rental agreement without the directions and key code (which the agreement said should be included with email) which I had to call back to receive. Cabin good, service- awful A guest from Bishop, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2011 We enjoyed our stay at the cabin however have left numerous messages regarding billing questions both prior to and after the stay and not received any calls back. We are very sorry to see that you disqualify this beautiful log cabin, fully equipped, sitting in one of the most spectacular mountains settings in the area just because you have to be charge the agreed rates before your arrival. It is very important for us your satisfaction, however, is also important that you make full payment for your vacation prior to the use and enjoyment of the property. All cabins are owned by independent owners and as property managers we have the responsibility to be sure that the charges to the guests are accurate and on timely manner. We review the records and there is no problem at all with the charges, no changes made, the rates you approved are the charges we processed.The process for all the reservations is exactly the same, once you agreed with the rates as an investment for your vacation you receive a confirmation of the reservation then, you sign a rental agreement approving those charges; before your arrival you have many opportunities to contact us via email, mail and phone, unfortunately we did not receive any communication from you; we pride ourselves in answering all calls immediately, the attention to our guests is our priority. Once you arrived to your vacation rental we gave you a courtesy call to be sure you have a safe arrival and that everything is up to your expectations and you approved the property again during that conversation. I have to remind you all the opportunities you had to contact us and you choose not to do it. Once again, we are sorry you feel uncomfortable and always hoping you come back again.
