Isla Plana is a small village in the seaside on the Mazarron Bay, within Cartagena region, located in the portion of the south eastern coast of Spain known as Costa Cálida. Its littoral is very pronounced, with headlands and bays. Characteristic of this village is its small and flat island, reachable by feet just crossing a small piece of sea, which gives it its name. This island is protected within the Islands and Islets of Mediterranean Coast as a Natural Park.

The Mazarron Bay has little to do with other overcrowded seaside Mediterranean destinies. It didn’t lose its charm and genuine beaches of clean deep blue waters neither its peacefulness ideal to lost yourself on the environment and enjoy the nature, swimming, walking, diving, sailing or canoeing.

In the interior we found Cabezo de Hornos mount and to the east the Rambla de el Cañar riverbed, both part of the Sierra de la Muela, Cabo Tiñoso and Roldan protected spaces because their animal but specially vegetal biodiversity. The perfect environment to practice sports like trekking, hiking or mountain biking.

20 km away stays the ancient city of Cartagena, founded around 227 BC and linked to its military and commercial port, full of historical buildings and museums of different ages, cultures and civilizations. There you can visits historical attractions like the Roman Theatre, the second largest of the peninsula, participate of local festivities like Cartagineses y Romanos in the middle of September or its famous Holy Week processions, as well as enjoy the local gastronomy.
