The island is beautiful, quiet and relaxing. Having to take the ferry if we wanted to do anything off the island was a little inconvenient, but we only needed to leave for groceries. We were very content to stay on the island and enjoy being with our family. We loved our daily routine of a walk on the beach, afternoon at the pool,and ice cream at Coconuts. The two restaurants were great for our dinners. The facilities are first rate, and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. We will definitely return to Palm Island in the future. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2012 6 family members were able to avail ourselves of kayaking swimming walks on the beach . water taxi had great experience with dolphins just riding to Leverocks for dinner. We are so happy we hope to come back for July 4 and/or Christmas again. The only downside was breakfast. the brochure and staff sounded like there was a cafe for breakfast. Had we known we would have brought supplies with us for breakfast. I did bring coffee and cookies. We did not like the breakfast sandwiches at the cafe. But next time we will bring breakfast supplies. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant buffet and leverocks also the pizza. However, there were a number of deficiencies...light fixture needed repair, stove operated poorly, upstairs Paintings were hung incorrectly. TV did not work, sofa was coming apart, porch drying rack broken, clothes dryer did not vent and left an excess of hot, humid air in the unit. Beach access was limited...making bikes and a golf cart important. However, the weather was hard to beat, and the unit was large enough to comfortably accomodate the family, and the experience of spending a week on the island was very relaxing.
