Stayed for 4 days in November, 2011 Overall, the stay was wonderful and the people at Palm Island were very friendly and helpful. The only thing worth mentioning, for future improvement, is that the unit we stayed in had plumbing problems in one of the bathrooms (not the master bath). When you attempted to get hot water, the pipes would simply make loud knocking noises you could clearly hear throughout the unit. Hot water was spotty, at best, in that bathroom. It may have been a problem with air in the pipes, which never improved. We did go into other units, and they seemed to be more updated and modern. I'm sure that's an individual unit owner's expense, and our unit was a bit outdated and was lacking some maintenance in general. Thank you. Unit 2713 A guest from COLUMBUS, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2011 We have been visiting Palm Island since 1984 and love it. Our unit had maintenance issues, some of which we asked to have fixed and others we just lived with. The exhaust fans in the bathrooms only worked intermittently, the clothes dryer was almost non-functional, the rattan furniture was in disrepair and there were no external faucets to wash off feet. The unit was just TIRED. Unit 2513 had been recently redone and was in much better shape. Overall, there was much more litter on the island than ever. And it's about time that WiFi was available throughout the resort, not just at Coconuts. We still love it, but it was not up to our past experiences. Greensprings Group Father's Day Weekend 2009 at Palm Island JANET W. from SAFETY HARBOR, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2009 The accommodations were nice. The only downside(s) with unit 2713 was the "loud" aqua blue color on the master bedroom walls, none of the sheets stayed on any of the beds and the unit smelled musty when we arrived. The color on the walls didn't matter because our eyes were closed while in that room most of the time. New sheets and mattress pads would solve the bed sheet issue. And, a nice Yankee Candle helped with the musty smell. Other than that... Great unit, very clean, nice view and another wonderful vacation with family and lots of friends on Palm Island!! The unit itself was fine but if the sleeping arrangements aren't good it sets the tone for the review. The restaurant food was much better than I had remembered. I would like to see some umbrellas at the pools as well. We wanted to stay at the pool but there is only a small area to get away from the sun and it gets in the path of people coming off the beach at the pool by our unit. The mosquitos were ATROCIOUS!
