Palm island 2 bedroom condo A guest from Brooklyn Park, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2013 This is our third year at Palm Island Resort. We have stayed in 3 different 2 bedroom condo's all on the gulf. The first two have been in good repair and this year not as well. The master bedroom mattress has a sink hole in the middle. The curtains along the living room sliders only went half way across. The oven handle was loose and the microwave handle was cracked. While I love Palm Island Resort this unit should not be rented until fixes are completed. Unit 2811B - Poor Condition Daniel K. from Lakeland, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2012 This was my 5th stay at the resort and it was the least satifactory. First, let me say that the management staff and all other personnel (Ko Ko, ferry, etc) were friendly and helpful. They all made you feel as if you were the most important person in their life. My problem was the general condition of the property. It appears that the unit hasn't been painted in years and is badly worn. The frame above the sliding doors over looking the Gulf has rust the whole length of the frame and the paint is peeling/bubbling on all the window frames. We used the washer & dryer just once and were afraid to use them again. The washer was so loud and "clanky" that I was afraid it was going to breakdown. The dryer wasn't much better. We had washed white towels and one of the towels was caught between the frame and tumbler and was very difficult to free. When I did get it out the towel had black grime on it where it was hung up in the dryer. The condition of each of the bathrooms was also unsatifactory due to the peeling/flaking paint. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2011 The property management was responsive but I was disappointed that I had to call on three separate issues with my villa. First, the AC compresser went out, then the towel bar and shower curtain kept falling in our unit and finally the dryer drum was broken and so the dryer literally detroyed two towels and a bathing suit cover up. I was in 2811 and the unit desperately needs a new dryer. I couldn't wash my beach towels or my children's suits as I had origianlly hoped. That was a pain. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2010 We have stayed at this resort 3 times now and this condo #2811 was the most dated, especially the kitchen appliances - the coil burner stove and microwave definitely need to be replaced - We cooked most of our meals in the condo, and the coil stove top was difficult. The condo location was great, close to the very long and private beach, with great shelling & shark teeth, the swimming pool was clean and warm, the bell-man was friendly and helpful, Rum Bay food was ho-hum, recreation needs to get more kayaks & canoes - only 3 kayaks at resort during spring break - not enough. Overall, resort is great for relaxing time, awesome for families, and would definitely come back, and would recommend the resort, but would request not to have this particular condo again. Also, only got 4 ferry passes for week stay - should be able to get more with a one week stay since there is not much to do on island.
