Villa Puri Bawana is delightfully contoured into a little over an acre (5000 sqm) of stepped rice paddies. Overhead squadrons of colourful Balinese kites look down on the terraced alang alang thatched rooms focused around a huge open sided living wantilan (pavilion) and swimming pool carved in sympathy with the surrounding fields and sloping down to a pretty stream. The expansive outlook of lush green paddy fields bordered by palms and fruit laden mango trees swaying in the gentle cooling breeze give a real eco feel enhanced by darting swallows, chirping sparrows and croaking frogs. The sounds of running water, the smells of flowering frangipani and cascading bougainvillea give Villa Puri Bawana a feeling of remote natural peace.

Finished in 2008, Villa Puri Bawana with its five spacious double bedrooms and a children’s bunk/maids’ room is ideal for large families or groups looking to share accommodation. The villa features a 27m long rice terrace shaped swimming pool centred with a bale (gazebo). The pool is surrounded by terraces and lawns which ease off into the surrounding paddy fields and down to a lazy stream and a second bale.

Along the villa’s southern boundary stepping up from the pool are three bedroom pavilions which house the master bedroom and four additional double bedrooms, each with private balconies and all ensuite. In a forth pavilion there is a kitchen with raised open dinning area for 14, a bunk room with beds for 5 and a family room stuffed with games. The pavilions are interspersed with pretty ponds and water features and connected by shady colonnaded walkways. A team of dedicated villa staff are available to guests under the control of a villa manager and include a chef, 24 security, maids and servers. Spa services can be arranged.

Guests of Villa Puri Bawana enjoy complimentary membership of the nearby Canggu Club which offers Tennis, restaurants and a host of recreational activities.
